The Suzuki GSX-R1000R has long been out of many markets for not complying with the regulations and, later, we saw it disappear from most competitions. But there is a place where it continues to compete, in resistance and more specifically in the 8 hours of Suzuka.
Last year we saw a unit of the GSX-R1000R participate in the experimental category, with 40% fuel and other ecological pieces, achieving quite promising results at the end of the eighth position against conventional models.
This year they will go one step further and the fuel will be 100% sustainable, while adding more ecological pieces. And all this with the aim of being more competitive, because they not only want to be more green but also faster.
The GSX-R1000R Suzuki will wear a new engine
One of the big changes will come with the engine, which will be new, although the details are not known and it is possible that we never get to know them. What is important is that this Suzuki bet will imply that what has been learned in the competition project will be applied in the development of future products.
To this important change we must also add, because it is visible, the new ailerons that will carry the GSX-R1000R in its participation in the 8 hours of Suzuka. In the same way, and although this project can help future products that come to the street, it does not mean that they do so with a new version of their super sports, also that does not imply that Suzuki is already working to return to MotoGP.

And why do we say that? Well, a while ago they let us know that they did not rule out returning to the queen category and with the new regulation that enters into force in 2027 the fuel will be 100% ecological.
So if we join points we can fantasize with a return to the highest category, although that raises other uncertainties, so for now we will have to focus on enjoying this spectacular and, hopefully, competitive GSX-R1000R.
