Although a while ago it seemed that Suzuki was not going through a good moment, the figures do not indicate the same. In fact, there are in countries where they are reaping very good commercial and Indian results is one of them. So much so that Suzuki, since he opened the doors of his current factory in 2009, has manufactured more than nine million motorcycles.
Now they will go one step further and have put the first stone of a mega factory with which, Suzuki India, can build up to 750,000 motorcycles every year. Of course, this new factory seems more focused on the local market.
To get an idea, currently the motorcycle with the greatest displacement and that is popular in India is the Gixxer 250, although it is true that in the Asian country there are also models to which we are more accustomed such as, for example the V-Strom 800 of, the GSX-8R or the mythical Hayabusa.
That does not mean that local circumstances drive a much more utilitarian type of motorcycle, with lighter, economical and simple models. A type of motorcycle that, by the way, is also sold in our country in addition to other parts of the world.
The new Suzuki factory will be operational throughout 2027
Regarding the estimated investment to launch the plant, there are 11,740 million rupees, which to the current exchange would be talking about 130 million euros. All this to occupy an area of more than 404,000 square meters.

The presentation of the new plant was attended by representatives of the government of the state of Haryana (the Indian state where it is located), as well as Kyoko Hokugo, minister of the Japan Embassy in India; Kenichi Umeda, General Director of Smipl; and Takashi ISE, head of Operations and Executive Director of the Suzuki motorcycle division. The plant is expected to start operating at some point in 2027, although a specific period for the moment has not been specified.
