QJ Motor SRT 900 S/SX: Introduction, Positioning and Rivals of the QJ Motor SRT 900 S/SX

3 years have passed since the landing of QJ Motors in Spain by the Motos Bordoy group. At this time, in addition to a commercial and after -sales network, they have managed to form a very complete range of motorcycles and scooter (26 models right now), which is crowned with our protagonists today.

In 2022 we attended the presentation of the SRT 550, SRT 700 and SRT 800. This year, the SRT 600 SX has been presented – with great success – and now, the QJ Motor SRT 900 S (95 hp, € 8,299) and the QJ Motor SRT 900 SX (95 hp, € 8.699), which are € Adventure.

These are two very similar motorcycles in that they share almost all their technical record. The QJ Motor SRT 900 S is the asphalt version, with 17 -inch front wheel (Pirelli Angel tires) and a seat height of 815 mm. The QJ Motor SRT 900 SX is the off road version, with 19 -inch front wheel (maxxventure maxxis tires) and 835 mm seat height, although its jacket orientation does not intend to reach beyond tracks without difficulties.

From there, there are no equipment differences, only in the price (€ 400 plus the SX), so it will be the use that will be given to the one that determines which version is most interesting.

The Motor QJ Baza is a groundbreaking price and equipment beyond the imaginable. Both deliver 95 hp of power, so they have a 35 kW version for Card A2 users. Both promise to enter the high displacement trail segment as an elephant in a pot, although each of them faces different rivals.

In the case of the QJ Motor SRT 900 s, there are less rivals, as there are fewer trail of high displacement with 17 tire. €), The Tiger Sport 800 Trusph (115 hp, € 12,295) or the MV Agusta Tourism Veloce 800 R (110 hp, € 19,529).

On the other side, we have asphalt trail that are approaching for a price below -some above -but far in displace NC750X (59 hp, € 9,090), Kawasaki Versys 650 (67 hp, € 8,825), Triumph Tiger Sport 660 (81 hp, € 9,695) and Yamaha Tracer 7 (73.4 hp, € 9,999).

For its part, the QJ Motor SRT 900 SX has its own rivals to measure. Among its adversaries there are also differences above four at a price. There are the BMW F 800 GS (87 hp, € 10,970), Ducati Multistrada V2 (115 hp, € 16,390), Moto Guzzi V85TT (80 hp, € 13,999) or Suzuki V-Strom 800 Tech (82 hp, € 10.199).

More in its price line is the Morbidelli T1002VX (87 hp, € 9,690). The VOGE 900 DSX (95 hp, € 9,192) could also be considered a direct rival, but its front tire is 21 inches. It is obvious that the power-equipment-price ratio is very favorable to the QJ Motor SRT 900; The market is not usually oblivious to these details.

Both equip the same dohc bicilinder with a balanced axis of 904 cm3 that delivers 95 hp to 9,000 rpm that place it at the legal limit to be limited to 35 kW. The maximum torque is 90 nm at 6,500 rpm, while the limited version reaches 77 Nm at 4,250 rpm. It has anti -boote clutch and a change assistant (Quickshifter) both on climb and down.

Electronics is present profusely. It has 3 driving modes (Normal, Sport and Rain) and electronic accelerator, which allows you to incorporate cruise control. Of course, it has a traction control, which is also disconnectable through a button installed in the pineapple.

What is not expected on a motorcycle of less than € 9,000 is that it has ADAS radar technology (Advanced Driver Assistance System), which includes three security systems such as BSD (Blind Spot Detection or blind spot detector) in the mismators, the LCA (Lane Change Assist or change of assisted lane) and the RCW (Rear Collision Warning or rear collision warning).

This last system is particularly useful, as it detects that a vehicle approaches too much from behind (that is, it does not meet the safety distance), repeatedly activates the brake light (even if you are not stopping), so that the driver behind the Tí automatically brakes. Bright.

The surprises do not end there. It also has a front camera with internal storage, which you can export through the application Road Camp and a wifi network. Interestingly, the first images that record are those of the motorcycle coming out of the production line, so you can know the history of your motorcycle from the same birth. The finishes in general are really good and the perceived quality high, except for the wiring of the mirrors (blind spot detection), which could hide better.

The cycle part is composed of a multitubular steel chassis, to which suspensions are set with guarantees: in front of a Marzocchi fork of 43 mm in diameter and 161 mm of adjustable route in preload, extension and compression, while behind it mounts a monoamortiguer manufactured by Marzocchi adjustable in preload and extension.

The brakes are in charge of Brembo, with a double front disc of 320 mm bitten by radial tweezers of 4 pistons. The pump is also radial. The rear disk is 260 mm and is bitten by a simple clamp of a piston. Both brakes are assisted by Bosch Abs, disconnectable in both trains.

The measures of the Pirelli Angel tires of the S version are 120/70-17 and 180/55-17, while the maxxxis Maxxis of the SX have measures 110/80-19 and 150/70-17. The wheelbase is 1,540 mm in both cases, as well as the weight of marching, which is set at 253 kg with a 24 -liter deposit, the largest of their respective categories.

With a approved consumption of 5 l/100 km, applying a realistic correction factor, the theoretical autonomy exceeds 400 km.

The interface is in charge of a 7 ”TFT screen in which, in addition to the visualization of ADAS systems, it allows connectivity by Mirroring. In it you can access all the information you can imagine, including the temperature and pressure monitoring of the tires.

If you think that the equipment is little, there is even more: Full LED lighting, seat and heated fists in 3 intensities, USB-A loading, hand protectors, adjustable handles, central easel and carrier grill. Little more can be asked. Well there are more.

The price of the QJ Motor SRT 900 s is € 8,699, but its launch promotion leaves the price at € 8,299. The QJ Motor SRT 900 SX is € 8,999, but its launch price is € 8,699.

It includes 6 years of guarantee (such as all QJ), one year of free insurance and attention: two aluminum bags (with their interior bags) and a top case of aluminum, as well as additional protections that are installed in the concessionaire. Both are available in black or dark gray.

QJ MOTOR SRT 900 S/SX: How are the QJ Motor SRT 900 S/SX

The presentation of both models took place in the Rías Baixas, an incomparable frame to shoot in a motorcycle (and for gastronomic tourism). The program was simple: a route on which the morning was filmed with one version and the afternoon with the other.

I was lucky to start the QJ Motor SRT 900 S, with its 17 -inch 100% asphalt tire. The first thing I perceive is that it is a wide motorcycle, with a row vocation driving position. The seat feels very comfortable and the ergonomic triangle is the most appropriate for someone of my height (measure 1.78 cm). Only the knees feel separate due to the capacity of the deposit (24 liters).

It is not uncomfortable and apart from the theoretical autonomy (above 400 km), protects the legs of rain and wind. You cannot say the same of the screen, too low for your route claims. Of course, it has lateral deflectors, so that they do not feel turbulence, but aerodynamic noise at high speeds.

When starting, an engine with “chicha” in the middle zone is immediately felt. The clutch’s touch, without being the softest in the world, is very good. So is the touch of change, really effective. And it takes me to realize that there is Quickshifter, both in climb and in descent.

Perhaps it is not the best point of the SRT900, because it is too sensitive going up marches if you do not give the order of change with energy. If you touch the lever without decision, you will cut gas to go up, but it will not finish making the change, with the consequent frustration that involves repeating the order (or operating the clutch). Lowering marches does not present any difficulty.

After a while, I begin to listen to electronic sounds, which at first interpret that they come from the intermittent when coinciding that it is activated. It does not take long to realize that it is the ADAS system, specifically the lane change assistant, which warns if there are vehicles in the adjacent lanes when the intermittent is activated.

Not only does he warn acoustically, but also on the TFT screen. Once you understand all electronic aids, you integrate into your driving routine. Pretending that it may be annoying, SRT900 S/SX allows you to disable aid.

In my case, I did it with the lane assistant, but not with the detection of blind spot (in the mirrors) or the rear collision warning, which more than useful, I consider very concerning. I wish they had all the motorcycles (and scooter) as standard.

Arriving in the curve zone the best news arrives. The kilos disappear and the entry into curve is really noble and intuitive, with a well -born motorcycle. The motorcycle geometries and the distribution of weights are really good.

The quality of suspensions and brakes only improve driving experience. The engine also pushes with forcefulness in the middle zone, which is where it is comfortable. It has stretched, but vibrations appear in the handlebar that suggest raising a relationship and taking advantage of the good tachometer zone.

Test QJ Motor SRT 900 S/SX

All these sensations are repeated in the SRT900 SX. It is not as fast as the SRT900 s in changes of direction, but enjoys the same stability and curve entry. Its 19 -inch front wheel is compensated with narrower tires, which allow it to be almost so effective in asphalt, with the addition of being able to roll by clues.

Anyway, even if it wears radio tires, it is necessary to be clear that it is not a motorcycle for the off road. The more than 250 kg are there (which will be more with suitcases and defenses) and do not invite life out of the asphalt. The width of the deposit reminds you when you stand on the stirruras.

In my opinion, there are two asphalt motorcycles with a row vocation in which the SX has that extra capacity to reach the last mile, but like the S version, it is a sport tourer. This is indicated by the profuse equipment, all standard.

The presentation has taken place in summer, but that is why the fists and heating seat, as well as the cuff protectors, all of them welcome in the cold winter. The motorcycles are not just for the summer.

Happy drivers
