After the first four editions held in Claravalls (Lleida), the last one last May, last weekend the Classic Raid TT/Trail premiered in Sant Mori (Girona), in the heart of Alt Empordà.
A charming town, with heritage elements such as the Església de Sant Maurici, from the 18th century, or the Castle of Sant Mori (15th century), which enjoyed the flavor of classic motorcycles from the last century and actively collaborated with the organization.
Classic Raid TT/Trail 2025: New scenario for the same philosophy
The route was again on Offroad tracks without difficulty, which is followed through an elaborate road-book, with TT and trail motorcycles from the last century. Participants go at their own pace, without time pressure, as it is not a competitive test.
Pilots of different levels took part, from a former Spanish speed champion like Edu Cots to Dakar pilots, like Ignacio Chivite, including illustrious hard riders and many fans. The route, in this case, was about 85 kilometers in the direction of Besalú and the 75 participants enjoyed the pleasure of driving motorcycles from other times, a fantastic setting and a very good atmosphere.
During the tour, the backfiring of our country’s 2-stroke motorcycles coexisted with the sound of many and varied 4-stroke trails. Between the 2T we saw the always active Ossa group with their Piooner or enduro; the exotic Bultaco Bandido by Ignacio Chivite, more than one Montesa King Scorpion, Montesa Texas or Puch. And for the first time, a Vespa in a very elaborate Offroad version that surprised everyone and everyone.
Among the great trail bikes there was no shortage of BMW GS, some very special ones; Honda Africa Twin, Dominator, Honda XR, Yamaha XT or Ténéré and two very elaborate preparations based on the Yamaha 250 SR. How could it be otherwise, what can we say about adventures such as having to rescue a Honda Dominator with ropes in the purest Camel Trophy style or who completed more than half the route with his Ossa punctured and detached, among other stories.
Once the tour was completed and upon arrival in Sant Mori, there was time to comment, have a beer and enjoy a good rice at the social venue. Different raffles and lots of laughter put an end to a new edition of the Classic Raid TT/Trail which, with the addition of its edition in Sant Mori, joins the traditional one in the month of May that AM Tours organizes in Claravalls
