The first race of Spanish Superbike Championship – ESBK 2025that it was going to be played on March 22 and 23, It has been postponed to April 5 and 6as the RFME has made official just a few hours ago. Last week the preseason tests were suspended because the torrential rains had left the impracticable circuit.
As we told you then, the Jerez circuit was completely flooded by the Dana that punished southern Spain during last week. The large amount of water and hail, which was the first thing that rushed on the layout, led to a large part of the track and the facilities would be totally flooded with water.
In the many videos and photos that circulated on the network we could observe with stupor like the water reached the Paddock area, and how it ended up flooding everything completely. The water channeling through the tunnels and the unevenness had been accumulating it in part as well as the hail that had previously fallen.
The beginning of the 2025 Esbk must wait
Despite the effort of the maintenance personnel of the Circuit of Jerez Ángel Nieto to reach the start of the Esbk 2025 on the planned date, the constant rains that continue to fall on the area are hindering the work greatly, and the development of the test with security cannot be guaranteed.
For this reason, and regretting it a lot, the RFME, the FAM and the circuit themselves have decided to postpone the test so that the participants can enjoy the competition in perfect condition.
