In addition, the XSpace has a sophisticated mechanical rack and pinion mechanism, fully patented by the Italian firm. Unlike traditional textile systems that are expandable using conventional bellows or zippers, GIVI is committed to the precision of mechanical engineering. With the lid open, the user can expand or contract the suitcase telescopically in a single fluid, fast and safe operation.
The great advantage of this gear is that it allows the external volume to be modified without the need to empty, move or remove a single object from the luggage, guaranteeing optimal structural stability and mitigating vibrations while driving. - Compact mode (27 liters): With a contained height of just 260 mm, this configuration is the perfect ally for everyday trips or to keep the motorcycle narrow and agile when used in the side suitcase position. By reducing the volume to a minimum, the aerodynamic efficiency of the assembly is maximized, reducing sensitivity to lateral wind and guaranteeing optimal driving comfort in urban traffic.
- Expanded Mode (36 liters): By activating the telescopic extension, the body of the suitcase gains 33% additional volume until it reaches 320 mm in height. It is purely adventurous mode. In this position, the interior space is so optimized that it is capable of safely housing a GIVI modular helmet in size XXL with its visor mounted, solving in one fell swoop the eternal dilemma of where to leave the equipment when arriving at the destination.
It should be noted how the XSpace has been designed and developed entirely at GIVI’s central facilities in Italy. For its construction, cutting-edge technopolymers have been selected that guarantee very high mechanical resistance against impacts, intensive use and premature wear caused by UV rays and atmospheric agents.
Additionally, the XSpace is fully waterproof in either of its two positions, ensuring that luggage remains completely dry even in the most severe road downpours.
