The Expoclàssic fair in Mollerussa concludes its 29th edition, reaping new success

The 29th edition of the Expoclàssic fair in Mollerussa, dedicated to the world of historical and classic vehicles, and the 4th Fair-market of Antique Dealers and Almonedistas, held last weekend of September 21 and 22, closed their doors reaping a new success, confirmed after surveys carried out among exhibitors by the organizing entity, Fira de Mollerussa.

Thus, the questionnaires reflected the good functioning of the show, with 92% of exhibitors overall rating the fair as very good or good and almost 90% expressing their intention to return next year. Good organizational capacity, ease of assembly and disassembly, attraction of new customers, good influx of visitors and appreciation of improvements are some of the aspects highlighted by this year’s participating firms.

The second exhibition, of motorcycles and collectively, was titled “Eternal rivals”, with motorcycles Ossa, Bultaco and Montesa. Among the dozen models that were exhibited were a Bultaco Metralla Mk2 250 cc from 1967, a Montesa Impala 250 sport from 1968 or an Ossa 250 sport from 1970.

The Classic Motorcycle Meeting, which has the collaboration of the Associació Motos Clàssiques Ponent and which was the origin of the Expoclàssic fair, celebrated its 30th edition during the Sunday morning with around fifty registered participants. After breakfast, they set off on a flat route of sixty-eight kilometers through towns around the city of Lleida.

Regarding the Hall, the flow of visitors has been one of the most evident issues, with a large attendance on both Saturday and Sunday. To the fans of the world of classic motors we must add the public attracted by the new antiques sector, a section that has taken on great importance since it was established as a complement to the Expoclàssic, the result of an agreement with the Association of Antique Dealers and Almonedistas de Mollerussa .

From the organization, the mayor and president of the fair entity, Marc Solsona, highlighted these good indicators, as well as the participation figures, with a total of 69 exhibitors in this call, which was 8% more than the previous edition. Of these, 39 corresponded to the car and motorcycle accessory and collecting market and 30 to the antique dealers and auction dealers area. Solsona also valued the diverse origin of the signatures.

It is worth remembering that the classic event also offers, thanks to the collaboration of collectors and individuals, attractive monographs for the enjoyment of visitors and that this year they have featured Volkswagen Golf cars, Montesa, Bultaco and Ossa motorcycles and an exhibition of Car Cross Junior vehicles.

Thus, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the manufacture of the Volkswagen Golf, the event hosted an exhibition of the model with thirteen vehicles and among which could be seen a Golf Country from 1990, a Cabrio MK1 or a Cabriolet MK1 from 1982.
