The first will hit the market between late 2024 and early 2025. Ford Mustang GTD in history, built at the Flat Rock plant and hand-finished in Markham, Canada. Created in parallel to the Mustang GT3 racing car, it aims to be the most extreme road-legal car and is expected to be priced at around $300,000 (around €276,000 at current exchange rates).
Ford Performance and Multimatic specialists who build it took inspiration from the GT3 that competes at Le Mans. In the words of Jim Farley, Ford president and CEO: “We’ve created a race car for the road. The Mustang GTD takes the race technology of the Mustang GT3 race car, wraps it in a carbon-fibre Mustang body, and unleashes it on the road.”

The Ford Mustang GTD gains firmness on the asphalt thanks to the downforce that generate their active aerodynamics elements (optional), and the grip of its huge tyres mounted on a double-height front suspension, with multi-link rear suspension. It stops with precision thanks to the carbon ceramic brakes.
The Ford Mustang GTD is the pinnacle of the Mustang family, its name referring to the IMSA GTD racing class for cars built to FIA GT3 technical standards. Its design features details such as the front splitter, vented bonnet and wheel arches, right through to the hydraulically controlled active rear spoiler mounted on the C-pillar.
Using panels of carbon fiber in its bodythe Mustang GTD reduces weight, lowers its centre of gravity and improves its responsiveness. Wheel arches, bonnet, cover that replaces the boot lid, door sills, front splitter, rear diffuser and the roof are made of this material. And you can add front and rear fascias as an option.
The aerodynamic package includes the integral carbon fibre underbody tray and hydraulically controlled front spoilers, coordinated with the active rear spoiler.
Where there used to be a trunk, there is now the semi-active suspensiona hydraulic control system (ride height is almost 40mm lower in Track Mode) and a transaxle cooling system with a race-inspired cover to replace the boot tray. It includes two air intakes to channel air out of the rear window as well as through the heat exchangers. They speak of a time in Nürburgring under 7 minutesmaking it Ford’s fastest road-legal Mustang ever.”
It moves thanks to the engine 5.2-liter supercharged V8 with double air intake, with a dry sump system (a pioneer in a street Mustang), to keep the engine lubricated in extreme curves. A power of 815 HP and 900 Nm of torquewith the red line located at 7,650 rpm. These figures could change when it arrives in Europe due to different regulations than those in the United States.
In any case, this power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a drive shaft. eight speed transmission connected to a carbon fiber rear transaxle for a near 50/50 weight distribution between the front and rear. A titanium active valve exhaust system is not missing. Not all of its details have been confirmed, but a maximum speed of 325 km/h, which is a record for this model.
Road grip and stability are aided by 325-millimeter-wide front tires and 345-millimeter-wide rear tires mounted on forged aluminum wheels 20-inch wheels or optional forged magnesium rims. Behind them are Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, optimized for heat dissipation (aided by cooling ducts running under the rear suspension).
The brand indicates that the cabin is finished in premium materials, including Miko suede in combination with leather and carbon fiber. There are Recaro seats3D-printed titanium shift knob, rotary knob and stock license plate. There are no rear seats, to reduce weight and provide cargo space. Interior color combinations and several special option packages will be available.
