The helmet that even Iron Man will want to have

ROOF has been innovating in safety matters within the motorcycle sector since 1993. Furthermore, in the words of the French firm itself, “He has not followed trends, but has created them.”

They advocate innovation as a pillar of their development strategy, and this is where their new helmet prototype, DJAGGERhighlights the motto on which they build their way of working:“To optimize the use and comfort of its helmets and offer uncompromising protection, ROOF is constantly innovating.”

ROOF Djagger: What we know

There are not many explanations that ROOF has offered about its spectacular Djagger model. Although we are talking about an initial prototype, the idea of what they seek to offer with such a model is clear. In fact, on the day of its official presentation, the French firm issued a brief statement in which it shared with us the essential approach on which this prototype is based: A full-face helmet with occipital opening and without chinstrap.

The brand intends to leave behind the conventional fastening system that is used in almost all of the current helmets on the market. We are obviously referring to the buckle closure using a double ring or, failing that, a micrometric type. In return, the ROOF Djagger offers us a rear opening where in a truly striking way the area expands in three coordinated movements in different directions.

Initially, it opens laterally, then retreats backwards and ultimately the separated part ends up rising. According to ROOF, it will not be necessary “take off gloves and glasses to put it on or take it off.” In addition, the brand ensures that its Djagger offers a better fit, as well as better acoustic insulation.

Also that it would facilitate “the intervention of emergency services after a fall, allowing access to the face without straining the rider’s neck.” Finally, the brand specifies that once the model is launched in series it will come equipped with a photochromic viewfinder and Pinlock lens.

Having said all this, we can only ask ourselves: Does the Djagger inaugurate a new era in full-face helmets?
