Last April, the six candidates for the Busted Knuckle Build Off 2026 were presented, among which was “SHAAN”the radical customization of Motorcycle Bläsing that has ended up making the attendees fall in love with Bike Shed London Motorcycle Show. In fact, the German dealership repeats its victory after doing the same in the first edition of the contest with its Royal Enfield GT650 “Beach Cruiser”.
“SHAAN” shines with its own light at BKBO 2026
As we say, after months of preparations and an extensive and complicated selection among more than 600 participants, Royal Enfield recently presented the group of six finalists who would participate in the second edition of the Busted Knuckle Build Off. The objective on this occasion was to find the best preparation on the platform selected for the project: the Shotgun 650. The place chosen for the presentation of the six participants was the celebration of the Bike Shed Moto Show in London.
In collaboration with a group of experts, as a jury, and the participation of the public attending the event with their votes, it has finally been the German preparation “SHAAN” that has taken the lead in this second edition of the well-known contest. As detailed by Royal Enfield UK: “After its victory in the Busted Knuckles Build Off Europe 2023 competition with “The Beach Cruiser”, the prestigious German brand Motorrad-Bläsing (W&B Custom Bikes) has returned to the international scene.”
They conclude: “Their latest creation, SHAAN, is a high-tech tribute to Royal Enfield’s 125-year history. Its name, which comes from the Hindi word meaning ‘Pride, Honor and Splendor’, is the result of more than 1,000 hours of intensive development.” The rest of the list of participants has offered representation to five other countries in the European environment: Czech Republic, France, Italy, United Kingdom and Portugal.
The creators of “SHAAN” have been rewarded by Royal Enfield with an all-expenses-paid trip to Motoverse 2026 in Goa, India, taking place later this year. For the Motorrad Bläsing team, this victory marks a historic consecutive victory after their success with the “Beach Cruiser” at the inaugural BKBO in 2023. In the words of Thomas Blasingfrom Motorrad Bläsing, after being proclaimed from the contest:
“Finishing that bike was absolutely crazy – we worked on it until the last minute, and the stress gave me nightmares for days about unfinished wiring. It’s certainly the most complex project we’ve built together, but seeing the reaction of the Bike Shed people made it worth every sleepless night.”
He concluded by explaining: “The warmth, appreciation and deep respect for cycling culture in the UK was incomparable to anything I have experienced back home, and I am still absorbing how incredible it was.” For your part Adrian SellersDirector of Custom & Motorsport at Royal Enfield, commented: “It made perfect sense for the final exhibition of the second European edition of the BKBO to take place at the Bike Shed Show, an event dedicated to celebrating the creativity, craftsmanship and culture surrounding motorcycles.”
He concluded: “It was a true privilege for attendees to see the best creations from the Royal Enfield dealer network take center stage at the event, showcasing each dealer’s unique imagination and skills in interpreting the possibilities of the Shotgun 650 in such different ways. Each of the final motorcycles had its own distinctive character and perfectly reflected the creativity of its builder, resulting in a display of truly diverse custom bikes.”
