the new electric enduro with 70 HP and 1,060 Nm of torque ready for competition

It is inevitable to think how the Offroad segment is one of the most advanced in recent years when we talk about new electric models. Motorcycles like our protagonist today, the Radian EXR, make it clear that it is possible to enjoy the mud in silent mode and also have top-level performance.

Then everyone can draw their personal conclusions in terms of sensations, comparing “regular” motorcycles with plug-in models of similar specifications. In any case and sticking to the words of the Dutch brand itself, in reference to its recently launched EXR, we would be faced with “the first truly race-ready electric enduro motorcycle.”

Radian EXR in detail

Radian was founded in 2021 with a clear vision: “to offer drivers an uncompromising electric off-road experience.” Under this motto, the company located in the Twente region recently announced the launch of the Radian EXR. A model loaded with cutting-edge technologies but which stands out mainly for having a new quick swap battery system.

Developed entirely from scratch, the EXR heralds a maximum power of 70 hpplacing it at the level of the Stark Varg EX. However, unlike the latter, it has a battery system of its own design, although patent pending. Called InfiniPack, it allows a complete battery change in less than 30 seconds, without the need for tools.

Its creators explain that the InfiniPack system is possible “thanks to the unique curved shape of the battery (origin of the name “Radian”), designed to facilitate natural movement during changing, allowing the battery to be removed and inserted in a highly ergonomic way.” That is why while we are piloting the newly changed battery can be recharged at the InfiniDock charging station.

With the acquisition of the new EXR the brand will provide its customers with a 8.6 kWh Endurance battery. This offers a range of between 60 and 115 km at off-road competition paceor from 1 to 7 hours, with a maximum weight of the assembly in running order of just 125 kg. For those looking for a lighter configuration, a 5.8 kWh Sprint battery will be available later, reducing the weight to 113 kg.

This innovative platform that gives life to the EXR is completed with a 336 V electric motor that boasts an astonishing 1,060 Nm of maximum torque available directly from a standstill. Combining inverter technology with a carbon-coated rotor, Transmission reaches 14,000 RPM. In addition, the system is fully configurable through the corresponding application, allowing pilots to adjust the engine characteristics to their liking.

A level of performance like this requires a cycle part to match. In this case Radian uses a state-of-the-art aluminum chassis, KYB suspension and a powerful Brembo brake system. Radian has announced that the EXR will soon be offered in a limited edition Founders Edition; This one will mount Haan wheels with Excel A60 tires. In any case, both the latter and the standard variant of the model have extensive equipment that takes care of even the smallest detail.

For example, to give pilots the flexibility to carry the right tools for each situation, the EXR features intelligent storage built into its subframe. Using interchangeable modules, enthusiasts can adapt the platform to specific use cases by adding tools, spare parts, an integrated charger or other equipment directly to the bike.

On the other hand, the Radian Vision LED headlamp offers a distinctive animated light signature that also serves as a charging status indicator. This design philosophy is also reflected in the EXR’s interface, which includes an integrated enduro timing system, saving time and helping you stay focused when riding. Furthermore, Radian confirms that “The EXR is designed for both competitive and recreational riders and will be delivered with full road homologation.”
