In recent days, we have learned about the recent patent registrations made by TVS Motor regarding future models with which to expand its range. The last one is precisely that of the futurist Tangent RR conceptofficially presented at the last Milan Motor Show, and which has all the cards to become the technical platform on which the brand’s next generation Apache is built.
Likewise, taking into account the collaboration between both brands in recent years, this should also serve to develop the mid-displacement sports car that all BMW Motorrad followers have been waiting for for so long: the F 450 RR. In any case, as we already explained in this article, it is not yet clear which of the two models would be the first to debut.
Tangent RR concept patents in detail
As we can see in the latest images published by Rush Lane colleagues, there are little or no visible differences between the prototype presented at EICMA and the one shown in the patents filed by TVS Motor before the registry office. In fact, if we look at the registration date, 10/31/2025we can confirm that the bureaucratic procedure was carried out days before showing the Tangent RR concept at EICMA 2025.
However, this portfolio of photographs offers us the possibility of analyzing the prototype from different angles, confirming in any case what we already knew: we are looking at a sports car without concessions. Regardless of the benefits that it offers us, there is no doubt that TVS has sought with its Tangent RR concept to recreate what for them should be a super sports car with a radical appearance, with a composite monocoque chassis and an orientation clearly inspired by competition.
Its sharp general lines, sculpted tank, 17″ wheels shod with sports tires or the “camouflaged” exhaust system in its lower part, make us aware of this. So does the double front disc actuated by radially anchored calipers, an inverted front fork with a forceful appearance or the rear monoshock anchored in a semi-horizontal position. Likewise, one of the biggest novelties that the Tangent RR concept presents is the fact of having a subframe monohull.
The idea is to be able to offer a motorcycle as agile and manageable as would be expected from a sports car with these characteristics. Also have a high level of rigidity and efficiency at times when the maximum is required from both the cycle and mechanical parts. For this, TVS Motor is very likely to end up using the same engine that recently debuted with the BMW F 450 GS. We are talking about a 420 cm³ inline twin that in the German ADV developed a power of 48 HP at 8,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm.
Of course, it is foreseeable that the future sports car from TVS Motor, whether under the acronym Tangent RR or Apache RR 450, will equip the latest technological features of the category. Among them an ABS system in corners, traction control with tilt sensors, bi-directional quick shifting, Antiwheeliefull color TFT screen with Bluetooth connection and step-by-step navigation, as well as different driving modes with which to adjust the power output according to the rider’s needs at all times.
