The LDK Customizations Workshop, based in Vélez-Málaga, makes us partakers of one of his latest works, the BMW “9t Hypermotard”. On this occasion we are facing a BMW R Ninet converted to the Hypermotard style and probably one of the first preparations of this type worldwide. With her, from Lord Drake Kustoms they show us once again her pioneering spirit and her ability to bring each project to a completely new level.
BMW “9t Hypermotard” by LDK in detail
In the world of motorcycle customization, few brands manage to constantly innovate without losing identity. One of them is Lord Drake Kustoms, a workshop internationally recognized for its ability to transform any motorcycle into a rolling dream. His latest creation, the BMW “9t Hypermotard”, gives good faith, thanks to its innovative and nuanced design.
As a platform for this project, Fran Manen, founder of Lord Drake Kustoms, along with his team, have used a BMW R Ninenet. Undoubtedly, an iconic model within the retro segment, Café Racer and Custom in general that it has also been a motorcycle widely used in Scrambler or Brat Style preparations, but so far, almost nobody, had taken the step of transforming it into a Hypermotard.
As a result we have a preparation where the premium character and German engineering of BMW is combined with an aggressive and sports aesthetic. The driving posture, the redesigned subchassis with a tail manufactured by hand, as well as the frontal mask and the front fender.
The adaptation of suspensions, including the improvement of the rear shock absorber that has been replaced by an OHLINS, makes this motorcycle the DNA of a true Motard, but with the unique personality of a Ninenet. In the aesthetic section, the pearl, black and orange tones give it dynamism and freshness, while the details in carbon (spoiler, hand protectors, air intake) and artisanal finishes, highlight the quality of the work finished with a upholstered seat with alcantara skin with orange thread.
It is not only a visual transformation. The motorcycle has received technical improvements that enhance its performance. Brembo serial brakes ensure braking power, the optimized escape system with a superTrapp tail offers a more aggressive sound, and ergonomics have worked to offer extreme fun on both mountain roads and urban routes.
The “9T Hypermotard” is not a simple style exercise: it is a machine ready to roll. According to Manehen himself, the challenge was risky: “We wanted to demonstrate that the BMW R Ninenet could also transform into a Hypermotard without losing its original essence. The result has been spectacular and we believe it will mark a trend.”
With the “9t Hypermotard”, Lord Drake Kustoms not only presents a different motorcycle, but a style that could mark a before and after in the history of the BMW R Nine transformations. An exclusive, daring and charged creation that perfectly represents the ideals and style of the well -known Malaga specialist.
