Think for a moment if you ever imagined that from a 2007 CBR1000RR Fireblade SC57, a “retromod” preparation as beast could come out as this “Freddie Blade”. The reasons for choosing this nickname to baptize this rolling sculpture are obvious: Freddie Spencer and the Honda NS500 with which, the American pilot would reach victory in the 500 cc world championship of 1983.
An unparalleled tribute, the work of the German coach Rindperformancethat more than one has left us embobated before the computer screen, without knowing very well what way to take. Among other things, because it is not very common to run into a project of this size in which, based on a relatively modern mount (a CBR1000RRRRRRR Fireblade SC57), you choose to confer an image “Old School” as memorable as the one that this “Freddie Blade” of Robin Ludwig looks.
“Freddie Blade” By Rindperformance: a tribute to legend
There is no doubt, at this point in life, that Freddie Spencer is one of the “legend pilots” who have been an essential piece to encumbra the competition motorcycling at the top. Its 250 and 500 cc World Cup in 1983 is one of those deeds that place it as one of the greatest referents within the Motorcycle World Cup. In addition, its three -cylinder Honda NS500 was an indivisible part of that sports feat, which has served as a source of inspiration to shape the incredible “Freddie Blade”.
The surprising thing about this preparation, in addition to the level of finishes and perfection of its general lines, is the motorcycle used for this purpose by Robin Ludwig, head visible in rindperformance. We talked about the same type that was taken from the sleeve that BMW R1200R «Bangee», a colorful tribute to the King of the ATV 2 times. Now he returns with this “Retromod” in which a Fireblade SC57 CBRRRRRRRRR SC57 of the year 2007 has been served as the main platform of this project.
As he tells Bike Bound’s own, in the extensive interview that they had the opportunity to do at the rate of this “Freddie Blade”: “What began as a Honda Fireblade SC57 of 2007 has been completely transformed, inspired by the legendary Honda NS500 of 1983, piloted by nothing less than Freddie Spencer. Hence the name comes: a tribute to both the Honda Fireblade and the fast Freddie.”
Among the main modifications that Ludwig had to carry out in order to reach the final result shown in these images, they are included:
- Home rear frame
- Alcántara seat
- Smaller water cooler
- PVM wheels
- CUP2 tires
- Escape under the homemade seat
- Bodis silencers
- 80 -year -style front fair
- Side and rear skirts, Honda NS500 style
- LED lights
- Low tail
- Management height adjuster at the front
- Longer tilting
- Powercommander with fast change, etc.
As defined by its creator and owner, this “Freddie Blade”: “It is very powerful. With 170 hp, you can easily compete with modern supercardives: accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds and completes the eighth mile in about 6.6 seconds, also thanks to your reduced weight.”
“It also incorporates a launch control device in the front fork, similar to that used by current motorcycles to lower the front. The only thing that is missed are the ABS and traction control, which would undoubtedly be useful with this level of performance.” He concludes by making a small reflection on the functioning of his prima opera:
“What I really value from construction is how well it is handled: everything works exactly as it should, as expected of a deep. You can get on it and drive it to the holidays without problems, provided that your dolls endure it.”
More than one would not mind leaving our dolls and part of the back to take a walk through Europe to the controls of such a rolling art.
