According to Heidi Haro, director of the museum: “The increase in assistance we saw this year reflects the connection that the museum has with this passionate community of bikers. We are delighted with the enthusiasm and generosity of all who visited us.”
The figures in this regard speak for themselves, with an increase in vehicular traffic of 14.1 % compared to last year and 11.3 % with respect to the average of the last five years, with A total of 537,459 registered vehicles. Likewise, the museum itself registered a 15% increase in general assistance and 20% in the sale of items compared to the previous year. This helped the celebration of several events over the days that the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally lasts.
From the museum also highlight philanthropic initiatives and generous donations, among which is the collector and television presenter Richard Rawlings which contributed with a total sum of $ 10,000. In the same way, an unprecedented increase was recorded in terms of digital interactions around the event, “with 293% in social media traffic during the recovery period. ”
From the museum they conclude explaining: “The tagged or mentioned content experienced a 245%parallel increase, demonstrating a considerable increase in online presence and interaction.” For his part, Paul “Fozzy” Fosdyck President of the Museum’s Board of Directors, commented: “We are delighted with the results of the demonstration. This is a direct fruit of the creativity and the hard work of the staff and the volunteers of the museum.”
