When Toprak Razgatlioglu arrived at WSBK, some members of his team started calling him “The Turk”. It was an easy and affectionate way to refer to him and dribble the tongue twister that saying his last name can be. But Toprak became the owner of that “El Turco” and has been sporting it on his overalls for a long time, and now it is that nickname that gives the name to a documentary that narrates part of his life.
This is a docu-film made by TRT Spor, in collaboration with Red Bull Turkey, and puts on the table the rise of a driver who has long been considered the greatest exponent of Turkish motorcycling. We must not lose sight of the fact that Turkey’s other great driver to date has been Kenan Sofuoglu, who has been and continues to be his mentor.
The documentary, presented in style in Istanbul, took place before Toprak left for Thailand to celebrate what will be the last preseason tests before the championship starts. Many fans gathered at the premiere and were able to enjoy a film that, according to those who have seen it, mixes sequences from his time at WSBK, but also more intimate and personal moments.

“El Turco” can soon be seen on streaming and in it you can also discover the relationship with Kenan himself, and how they have been forging a relationship over the last two decades, which has taken them from karting to MotoGP, winning three WSBK titles along the way.
Toprak’s success on the tracks has established him as a star in his native country and that is only the beginning, because in a few days he will become the first Turkish rider in MotoGP history. The tools he has and the work ahead will make it a new challenge, and although it is not included in this first production, the second part is already being prepared, which will focus on his first steps in MotoGP.
