Recently, we made you participants in the event “The champions: Schumacher and the legends of the F1” carried out by the specialized company RM Sotheby’s, where, among others, the Honda CBR1000RR SC59 of 2010 would be auctioned that until July 23 belonged to Michael Schumacher.
Initially, the estimate of the final price, made by the experts of the bid itself, was estimated between 30 and 35 thousand euros, something that the members of the writing seemed truly optimistic taking into account who belonged to who belonged to the motorcycle.
Finally, 64,800 euros have been paid for the CBR1000RR SC59 of Schumacher
It was not the first time we were talking about an auction related to objects owned by 7 times F1 world champion. At the end of 2023, 4 motorcycle helmets went to auction with which the prolific pilot was put at the controls of various sports mounts throughout his career. Within the framework of the “The Schumacher Collection” event, RM Sotheby’s was also in charge of auctioning these objects.
Then it was expected to raise about $ 100,000 for all of them, although this time it passed precisely in the reverse of what happened in the case of the CBR1000RR SC59, since the final price of all of them did not even reach 50 thousand euros. Perhaps after the auction of the “Schumi” Honda, the final balance has been compensated for the sale of objects so exclusive and desired by collectors around the world … right?
As for the motorcycle in question, it was prepared by Holzhauer Racing Performance, wearing the 77th dorsal on its front, and from which there are countless photographs published on the network with Schumacher himself at the controls. The lot also included a helmet and a pair of motorcycle gloves signed by the Bavarian pilot.
On the technical level, the CBR1000RR SC59 of Schumacher, with only 3,752 kilometers traveled, includes an electronic control unit (ECU), in charge of managing traction controls, Antiwheelie and Disrape. As detailed in the announcement description, “HRP incorporated special components such as an air box, an oil radiator, handlebars, fast change, an escape system Akrapovič Titan and much more.” It also emphasized that the motorcycle required a general tuning.
At the time we already commented: “It really seems to us a truly low price, even more taking into account the barbarities that have been paid for mounts similar to this CBR1000RR SC59, which at the time belonged to someone relevant or participated in some important championship.”
Time has finally proved us, showing the curiosity that auction all this type of auctions arouse, especially when the objects offered there belong to renowned legends such as the one that surrounds Michael Schumacher’s professional career life.
