Since last September 2025, on the occasion of the Chongqing Motor Show, the new CB500 Super Four and the CBR500R Fourthere has not been much news related to both models in recent months.
Now, in addition to knowing that the Japanese brand resurrects the myth of the CB400 SF and its sister in a sports version, both developed from the platform of these “500 variants”, we also know the main aspects of the model after its official launch in China.
New CB500 Super Four and the 2026 CBR500R Four in detail
In one of Honda’s latest corporate events, some of the main new features that will make up the 2026 range of its Chinese subsidiary have been announced. Among them are the highly anticipated CB500 Super Four and the CBR500R Four, of which both their official prices and some key technical aspects of both models have been revealed.
In any case, both the naked model and the sports option share most of their components. Starting with its new 502 cc tetra-cylindrical engine from which a power of 52.8 KW at 11,000 rpm (approximately 70.1 HP)with a maximum declared torque of 47.1 Nm at 10,000 revolutions.
This may be associated with the second generation of the well-known Honda E-Clutch electronic clutch system, now equipped with an electronic accelerator. The maximum speed of the CB500 Super Four remains at 180 km/h, while the CBR500R can reach 210 km/h. Other notable data in the mechanical section would be total dimensions of 60.0 × 44.4 mm along with a final compression of 12.3:1.
In terms of weight, the naked variant declares 188 kilos, compared to the 189 kilos of its “Hi Sport” sister. There is also a small variation in the capacity of their fuel tanks; While in the CB500 Super Four we can refuel up to 14 liters, in the CBR500R this figure increases to 14.5 liters. Something similar happens with the average consumption: in this case Honda declares 4.68 L/100 km in the roadster variant compared to 4.77 L/100 km for the sports model.
Some of its main dimensions, such as the distance between axles, do not vary in both models, with a maximum figure of 1,412 mm. The same does not happen if we talk about length × width × height. Here the CB500 Super Four approves 2,103×775×1,083 mm, while the CBR500R Four has 2,060×769×1,124 mm. On both models the brand fits tires in sizes 120/70ZR17M/C (58W) and 160/60ZR17M/C (69W), front and rear respectively.
Finally, both the CB500 Super Four and CBR500R Four will initially be offered in three different color schemes:
- CB500 Super Four: Digital Silver, Fire Red and Obsidian Black
- CBR500R Four: Stellar Silver, Lava Red and Obsidian Black
Both models are now available in China for an official price of 42,980 (CB500) and 44,980 yen (CBR500R), about 5,414 and 5,665 euros respectively. The first units will arrive at the country’s official dealerships at the end of next April.
That said, now we just have to wait for Honda to confirm that we will be able to enjoy both models in Europe and, if so, from when that will be.
