Some time ago we reviewed the history of the Porsche 911 Speedster, the most special of the Porsche 911 bodies, with a shortened windshield and a characteristic rear hood. On the market since 1954, it was present in all generations except the fourth (the 911 993), a gap that the passionate Porsche fan, designer and Speedster collector Luca Trazzi wanted to fill. He has made his dream of owning a 911 Speedster built through the Sonderwunsch program come true.
“I went looking for the car I had dreamed of driving. Since I couldn’t find it, I decided to build it.” Luca Trazzi has made this legendary statement by Ferry Porsche his own. In the extensive Speedster collection of Porsche enthusiasts, a 911 from the 993 generation was missing. The designer turned to the team of specialists from Sonderwunsch to make his project a reality. Tarzzi says he had to work very hard to buy his first Porsche, a 1955 Speedster 1600 Super, a car that fascinated him since he was a child. Since then he has not stopped feeding his “Speedster-mania”. He wanted to complete his collection with a 911 Speedster of the 993 series… of which there were only two units, the first one created by each department. Exclusive for Ferdinand Alexander Porsche and the second for the American actor Jerry Seinfeld.
This 911 Speedster is the first factory one-off model for a final customer and shows what is possible with the Sonderwunsch programme.
This is how it was done
The project began with a visit to the company archives to delve deeper into the history of the Speedster and generate additional ideas. Luca Trazzi arrived at this first meeting with his own folder full of drafts and sketches and with a very clear vision of how he wanted to create his personal Speedster.
During development, Luca Trazzi visited Porsche several times, for which he was even given a factory ID. He was able to watch his Speedster being dipped during the cathodic dip painting process in the plant workshop (a procedure reserved for new cars). They then developed a specific colour, christened Otto Yellow in honor of the owner’s dog.

Other striking exterior elements include the black conical mirrors – the four-point daytime running lights of modern Porsche models. The silhouette of the rear bonnet was completely redesigned by Luca Trazzi.
Black 18-inch light-alloy wheels in Turbo design with a fine yellow contrasting line, black door handles and the air intakes on the front spoiler are further details in a sporty style, some of which were based on the 911 Turbo of the 993 generation.
The interior is finished in black leather with yellow decorative stitching, a design that is repeated on the front boot, the vehicle cover and the matching travel bag. And there are carbon elements on the dashboard, centre console and gear lever, as well as the seat backrests. By the way, the carbon door sill mouldings are illuminated in Otto Yellow and carry an individual logo.
