The expected arrival of Bimota (with lowercase B) to the WSBK with the KB998 Rimini is a reality. In a practically record time, the BBKRT project and the Spanish benefit Racing, which for years was the official Kawasaki team, has the motorcycle with which Alex Lowes and Axel Bassani are going to compete.
The KB998 Rimini is the great novelty of the season, since there is no other new model that enters the grill and also, in the collective tests held so far it has been competitive. In the absence of seeing her in direct struggle with her rivals in the races, the sensations transmitted by the KB998 Rimini are positive.
Do not forget that the most proven and powerful mechanics of the Kawasaki ZX-10RR is the one that drives the model so, in a way, it has the advantage of being able to adapt the chassis to the needs of the competition. A strategy that also requires a superior effort, having to develop a motorcycle that will have to reach the market complying with the regulations of approval and, also, of the WSBK regulation itself.
But beyond that, one of the great intrigues was to know what decoration the Bimota KB998 Rimini would look in the championship. Taking into account the historical designs, it was expected that white and red be present and that black has been added as corporate color. In addition, due to sponsorships there are also blue parts to create a motorcycle that will be easy to recognize both for its decoration and for the aesthetics itself.
The presentation of the Bimota KB998 Rimini has been a declaration of intentions
In the act of presentation of the team they were responsible for Bimota, Kawasaki, benefit and, of course, the two official pilots. As expected, all of them have highlighted the emotion of this new project, although the most significant are Lowes and Bassani, who have been prepared for the new season that will start in a few days in Australia.
Alex Lowes, BBKRT pilot: “First of all, I think the colors are impressive for 2025! I am really excited to see what Bimota and Kawasaki can get this year. The passion and effort of the entire team to launch this new project has been enormous, so I really appreciate it. From the first laps on the motorcycle I have felt good, so my goal is to continue advancing from 2024 and fight for the best possible results. ”
Axel Bassani, BBKRT pilot: “Today we have shown the new motorcycle decoration, our new team and everything else. It’s nice because we’re at home, near where I live, so I think it’s special. This is a completely new adventure for everyone, for Kawasaki, Bimota and for us the pilots. Moto design is vintage style, but it also has something new. I think everyone will like the new decoration. I also hope to demonstrate in the races that we can be in front and that we have the possibility of going far with this motorcycle. We want to make good races, good results and enjoy everything with the team “
