Tom Cruise makes a “Mission Impossible” comeback at 62 years old and without stunt doubles at the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics

Nothing surprises us anymore when the protagonist is Tom Cruise and the matter is related to doing the most incredible stunts and action scenes in cinema. The well-known 62-year-old American actor reappeared just a few hours ago at the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

And he did it with a mission, in this case less impossible than those he usually carries out in the famous film series. He had to pick up the official flag of the famous world sporting event and transport it to the place where the next venue will be located: Los Angeles in 2028.

Tom Cruise and his staging never disappoint

But of course, when it comes to Tom Cruise and the famous Olympic Games, the scene that would encompass this milestone could not be executed in just any way. That is why the famous actor descended from the heights of the Parc des Princes stadium in Saint-Denis, the place chosen for this celebration, to later bathe in the crowds on the route that would finally take him to collect the famous flag.

With the help of the Mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, and the gymnast Simon Biles, Tom Cruise finally got his hands on this one and later took control of his Livewire del Mar. The same one he would use to star in Mission Impossible 8, and set off through the streets of Paris until he boarded a military plane headed for the Californian city.

As we already mentioned in this article, we thought that Tom Cruise was filming a few months ago some of the scenes that will make up the new sequel to Mission Impossible. But now we know that he was preparing the filming, on the streets of Paris, of this particular scene on the back of the aforementioned Livewire del Mar and with which he seemed to be traveling, just a few hours ago, as part of the performance Olympic.

Returning to Mission: Impossible, there is speculation that this will be the last installment of the extensive saga where Cruise will be in charge of giving life to its protagonist, Ethan Hunt. Perhaps he has also realized that everything is veering irrevocably towards a new era, where the general canons that have so far structured society are no longer well regarded. Will there be a Mission: Impossible 9 with gender parity, as in the recent Paris 2024 Olympic Games? … Everything is possible.
