Ultraviolette changes the plans for its Shockwave: it will arrive in 2027 with a significant technical improvement

Recently, Ultraviolette has been at the center of the news for different reasons, although all of them revolve around their future plans. The last of these firsts is directly related to its expected Shock Wave; Apparently the Indian brand has confirmed the delay in deliveries of the first units of the model. Although it would be launched before the end of this year, now it seems that it will not be until the first quarter of next season when this finally happens.

The Shockwave will debut an improved platform

From Ultraviolette they assure that the reason for this delay is none other than implement its new 100 V technical platform in the future Shockwave. As already happened with the Tesseract, “the enduro with more torque than a sports car and less weight than a 125” will also benefit from this update. From Rush Lane, referring to this news they state:

Ultraviolette delays delivery of the first Shockwave units until the early stages of 2027

“The announcement extends the wait for the Shockwave, which was presented alongside the Tesseract at Ultraviolette’s Fast Forward India event in March 2025. Deliveries were initially planned for 2026. The latest communication confirms a launch period between January and March 2027, and final specifications and further details will be released closer to its presentation.”

Another novelty around the debut of the Shockwave has as its protagonist one of the elements of its equipment. We are referring to the possibility of acquiring the model with a “single seat” or, failing that, a “double seat”. This option was not initially considered when the brand launched the pre-sale back in March 2025. It is assumed that after this announcement, all those who then reserved the model will be given the opportunity to choose one or the other.

No notable changes in its general configuration

Beyond what was mentioned above, it does not seem that the Shockwave will be subject to further changes in its main technical configuration. Let us remember that at the time Ultraviolette presented the model in society as a lightweight, plug-in enduro that is shaping up to be a revolution within the category. To achieve its mission, the Indian brand uses some truly interesting characteristics:

  • Maximum speed: 120 km/h
  • Maximum range: 165 km
  • Maximum weight: 120 kilograms
  • Maximum power: 14.5 HP
  • Maximum torque: 505 Nm
  • From 0 to 60 km/h: 2.9 seconds

As for the structure that gives life to the model, its 19-inch front and 17-inch rear radial wheels stand out, along with a disc brake system on both axles, with a 270 mm disc and axially mounted double-piston caliper at the front. At the rear we find a 220 mm disc and a single-piston floating caliper at the rear. For the suspensions, the brand uses an inverted fork with 200 mm of travel and a rear monoshock with 180 mm between stops.

If we talk about the technological equipment, it is worth highlighting, among others, 4 traction control modes, switchable dual-channel ABS and 6-level dynamic regeneration. It also has Full-LED lighting and a TFT screen with integrated connectivity, all for a price that is around the 1,600 euros. We do not know if after the announced updates this rate will increase significantly…
