VOGE SR3 test: Introduction, Positioning and Rivals
Voge is one of the brands from China that is best welcomed. Obviously, for their own merits, thanks to a bet in which they have been able to combine a high degree of equipment, elements of recognized brands and, above all, a price that leaves no one indifferent. The trail and the scooters are their main spearheads in their offensive in the European market, and with respect to the latter, its range has just grow with the new Voge SR3.
But if you have been attentive to the latest news of the brand, you will have noticed the emptiness between the 125 and SR4 scooters … until now; And it is that the Voge SR3 comes to fill out said hole with a GT type scooter. On the one hand, it seeks to contribute more performance (and security) than his little brothers of 125. On the other, he does not go to the level of equipment and figures of his older brother. Therefore, what does it offer? A balance between size and benefits.
Of all it is known that GT scooters stand out for greater performance than merely urban scooters, with their consequent weight gain and seat height. Precisely, on these last aspects, it is where Voge SR3 bases its reason for being: offer a GT scooter with a contained and tremendously accessible weight (as you will discover later). And we must not forget a constant in all the Voge launches, which is none other than to offer the most complete equipment.
The Voge SR3 enters fully into the battle for being one of the most balanced GT scooters, at least as far as quality/price is concerned. That does not mean that it will have it easy, because it will be measured with rivals such as Yamaha XMAX 300 Tech Max (€ 6,499) or the Morbidelli SC300 (€ 3,990), the Sym Joyride 300 (€ 4,799), the Kymco X-Town Ct 300 (€ 4,699) or the Keeway Vieste 300 (3,850 €).
VOGE SR3 test: Technical characteristics and equipment
At the design level, Voge has put all the meat on the grill so that the shapes of its scooter are the taste of European clients. To do this, he has trusted an Italian design study to provide SR3 with sharp shapes and lines, which confer the Scooter GT of a modern and aggressive aspect. To the above, he also adds security solutions, such as LED optics, and comfort, such as a manual adjustment screen and a two -height seat.
Regarding the engine, the VOGE SR3 mounts a totally new and its own development block. Cubica 244 CC, is cooked by water and develops a power of 25.5 hp at 8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 23 Nm to 5,500 rpm. With these figures, it can only be driven by users with the A2 card. Of course, complies with Euro5+emission regulations.
In the cycle part, the VOGE SR3 presents a chassis of steel tubes, next to a conventional fork with 35 mm bottles and a 111 mm route. Behind, there is a double buffer with a 113 mm route and an adjustment for the preload of the dock in five positions. By brakes, it equips a double piston clamp and a 260 mm disk, while behind we move on to a double piston clamp configuration with 240 mm disc. We also have double channel ABS. On the other hand, the tires of 14 and 13 »are shoes with helium tires in measures 120 and 140 mm, respectively.
If we talk about electronics, SR3 has a disconnectable traction control or emergency braking warning. Functionalities that we can see on a color TFT screen with a large amount of parameters, but in which we highlight the pressure of the tires, battery status or navigation Turn by turn If we connect our mobile phone.
The rest of the equipment is not far behind: heating cuffs, front HD camera, USB port, keyless booting system, handbrake, holder grill, space under the seat for two helmets (one integral and one jet), two gloveters with magnetic opening, retroiluminated pineapples …
VOGE SR3 test: How is the Voge
Since you look at the VOGE SR3 you understand perfectly the formula they have wanted to capture with their new GT scooter. Its seat is only placed 770 mm from the floor and the tunnel that separates the platform is not too high. As a consequence, getting into him is as simple as breathing. Also reach the ground with both feet well supported with my 1.70 meters tall. And if that were not enough, the 165 kg, with all the filled made, make moving this SR3 in a very low speed standing is a kid task.
With this, there are already several Voge models that I have had the opportunity to try, and in a large number of them, the shine of the screen has been one of the common ‘buts’. The same does not happen in this SR3, where the color TFT screen elevates the bar in terms of visual quality. He is inherited from his older brother, the SR4, and his information is read to a thousand wonders.
From the first meters you notice a total comfort, thanks to a generous feet platform and a seat with an additional tab in the rear area, allowing users of my size to rely on accelerations. Eye, it is an appoal that adds a few centimeters to the counterscud, so that the bikers of greater stature could touch with their knees in the counter -cuddles. Fortunately, it has a solution: it can be disassembled.
The new SR3 engine has a good balance between performance and softness. In fact, it allows good accelerations from standing, without transmitting a kick, which has a positive impact on march comfort. Its elastic curve allows you to fuck speed comfortably until the 120 km/h lavish. Life insurance to circulate on highway and other fast roads. The recoveries are equally docile and go in line with the philosophy of the model, which is none other than combining lightness, performance and practicality.
The VOGE SR3 wants to please the greatest possible number of users in terms of the cycle and for this he opts for a suspension tare that goes to the soft. It makes sense if we understand that it is an option that will be used, mostly, in city. In this scenario, both trains are appreciated with a good filtering of asphalt irregularities. Much less becomes ‘gum’, so it does not cause annoying movements in accelerations and braking. Thanks to the adjustment of the preload behind, you can play with the hardness of the rear train to adapt to bikers of different weights and/or tastes.
In the brake section, the VOGE SR3 has improvement margin. The braking power is good, but not the touch of the handles. It is hard and has very little route, so in traffic jams, excessively load both hands. In addition, in the case of the rear brake, the ABS enters too easily.
In Ciudad, the Voge SR3 is an agile scooter and the sensations that it brings in this scenario they resemble a model only in the city. By dimensions, it is easy to navigate between traffic, either in traffic jams or low speed. For its part, the engine response allows you to go out with a village from stop. And on highway? We can reach speeds close to 140 km/h, so we do not have a speed of speed tips that can be dangerous with respect to the rest of the traffic. It has very good stability at cruise speeds and the adjustment of the screen in its highest position defends most of the air, so it reinforces comfort in this regard.
If you live in the Community of Madrid, you will be aware of the large amount of rains we are experiencing. Historical amounts that were no exception during the presentation of the VOGE SR3, but that served to verify the behavior of the tires. In this regard, they responded perfectly, with a grip that motivated that at no time the traction control would enter. At the end of this first contact, we obtained a consumption above 3 liters per 100 km, which is very close to 3.34 liters that homologate the SR3 and that promises a theoretical autonomy of 437 km.
