The Portuguese Grand Prix is the penultimate round of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship. The penultimate opportunity we will have to enjoy the season, before a winter break that will be long. For this reason, and although both the championship and second place are decided in favor of Marc and Álex Márquez, there are still many things to decide.
Without Marc on the track, as will Martín, we will have the last two champions out of the game and, therefore, someone will have to play the role of leader on the spectacular Portuguese track. After what we have seen all year, although we are already in the final stages of the season, it is difficult to know who will take the lead.
Portimao is a track that has adapted well to the Aprilia in past seasons, so it is to be hoped that Bezzecchi will once again perform at a good level and leave the disappointment of Malaysia behind. But in Portugal Bagnaia has always been very fast and we must not overlook Álex Márquez, who is in good form again.
To all this we must add, as always, Pedro Acosta, the two VR46 drivers (Di Giannantonio and Morbidelli), Mir and Marini who are being increasingly competitive with a Honda that continues to improve, and probably Fabio Quartararo, at least for one lap. From there the unknowns increase, because if the Aprilia works, Raúl Fernández will be in the leading positions and if the track adapts to the “rookie of the year”, Fermín Aldeguer will be able to fight for everything.
Perhaps this is the only positive part of not having Marc Márquez, who continues to recover, on the track. And not counting on the lord and master of the season, with the great dominator who, despite missing the last four GPs of the year and not scoring points in Indonesia due to the fall, has more than broken the points record in the history of MotoGP, opens up a range of opportunities that can make the Portuguese GP a real party.
Where to watch the 2025 Portuguese Grand Prix
This weekend the Portuguese Grand Prix can be followed through the two usual official platforms, both paid. The main one is DAZN, which will offer complete coverage from Thursday, starting with the previous press conference and continuing with all the training sessions, qualifying and, of course, the races on Sunday. In addition to the live broadcast, the platform includes interviews, analysis and special reports. All content will be available both in its application and on the television channels that make up the service.
The other option is the official MotoGP Videopass, although in Spain it is no longer available for new subscribers and automatically redirects to DAZN. However, users who still have an active account will be able to continue accessing the platform, which maintains the narration in English and offers the usual content: press conferences, training sessions, races and an extensive archive with historical material and exclusive reports.
