The Netherlands Grand Prix is always one of those unpredictable, strange races, and in which many pilots can choose to be protagonists. Although TT Assen is not what one day was, and its greatness was diminished by an amputation of some of its most spectacular parts, it continues to keep part of its essence.
And that shows every time the pilots face the challenge of the Netherlands Grand Prix. A challenge in which not only the track has a lot to say, but also the weather conditions.
For now, although you can still change, rains are expected at different times of the weekend and in different measures, so everything we can see in training and races can be tremendously subject to conditions.
Even so, what is certain is that in Assen there will be two great sides. On the one hand we have those who will strengthen their position, which are not others that the Márquez brothers and their strong defense of the leadership that, whatever happens Saturday and Sunday, will continue to be in the hands of Marc. On the other we have just the opposite, who want to end the supremacy of the clan.
Among the first two, statistics tell us that Marc has more options, but Alex’s piloting level and his almost no mistakes make him candidates for victory as much as his brother. In the other group, headed by a Bagnaia in low hours, we have those who will try to take advantage of the characteristics of the layout, mostly from right -wing curves, to approach both Álex and Marc.
To this we must add that Fabio Quartarara, if his shoulder allows it, can be added to a fight between the Ducati of Bagnaia, Morbidelli and Di Giannantonio; The KTM of Viñales, Acosta and, depends on the Binder day, and the aprilia of a Bezzecchi that continues to show a great career rhythm, although it lacks to finish with a good qualifier on a clue where, the RS-GP, it has always gone well.
Precisely one of the pilots who flew with that motorcycle in Assen, Aleix Espargaró, returns to compete for the third Grand Prize this season, although this time as a substitute for Luca Marini, so he will be part of the official team.
