Where to watch the 2024 Indonesian GP, schedules and more info

Once again, the island of Lombok and its circuit will be the setting for the 2024 Indonesian GP. The championship is coming back with all its intensity after the Emilia Romagna GP, held last Sunday in Misano and which has given Jorge Martín a chance to take the lead in the standings.

We are now coming to a track where in 2023 Martín took the lead during the Sprint Race, only to later make a mistake that greatly compromised his chances of fighting for the title.

Furthermore, this season, with the high pace set by Martín and Pecco Bagnaia, mistakes are part of the norm, even though they can make the title hopes disappear if Bagnaia is the one who makes them, or everything could get tighter again if the mistake were to come from Martín.

But in addition to the more direct battle for the title, we must not forget that both Enea Bastianini, who won last Sunday, and Marc Márquez are relatively close in the general classification. Although it is true that they are not able to replicate the pace of the two leaders on a regular basis, they are doing so occasionally. To this we must add that on other occasions the track has not been very clean and the grip conditions have been peculiar, terrain on which Marc moves with ease.

In addition, there is another issue that many are waiting to see resolved at the 2024 Indonesian GP, and that is none other than the role of Yamaha and Honda. Although for many months it seemed that the two Japanese manufacturers were far behind and without the possibility of closing the gap at Misano, especially in the second round, both brands seem to have taken a step forward.

Yamaha is in the lead and Fabio Quartararo was close to the top five, which he had in his grasp until he ran out of fuel in the final meters. Honda is a little behind, but the step they took at Misano is a ray of hope that opens the door to a possible recovery of competitiveness. Without a doubt, at the 2024 Indonesian GP we will see if this step was circumstantial or not.
