In the last quarter of 2023, X-Wedgea new Chinese brand, unveiled its initial range of models, all of them with large displacement and a marked Yankee style. Integrated within the Chinese business group HISUN Motors, it has had the development collaboration of the well-known KISKA design studio since its inception.
At the base of the project we find a marvelous 2-liter V-twin block built under the design of the well-known V-twin (X-Wedge) signed by the specialist S&S. These have been used in the past to power frames belonging to brands such as Arch and Curtiss.
X-Wedge bets on a fusion of concepts
It is at this point, that of fusing traditional American mechanics with the forceful style offered by mega cruiser models, where X-Wedge gives life to a range of models made up of three alternatives included in this segment, as well as two tricycles with a completely reverse philosophy:
- X-Wedge Vanguard VT2000
- X-Wedge Walker WR1000
- X-Wedge Rover RL2000
- X-Wedge Ranger RX2000
- X-Wedge Rover RL2000S
It is precisely these last two that have recently undergone some aesthetic changes, as confirmed by AMCN colleagues: “The new Chinese approvals reveal that two of the company’s key models will receive modifications,” they explain. “Changes include a new all-black look for both models.”
This is the result of having eliminated “the chrome engine and exhaust parts that were seen on the original 2023 versions of the motorcycles, as well as the chrome headlight trims and adding a new wheel design that both machines share”they conclude. Regarding the technical aspects that were announced in its debut, there do not seem to be any relevant changes to declare.
Therefore the 1,976 cc V-Twin continues to be the star of the X-Wedge range. The brand declares a power of 103 HP at 5,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 158 Nm at 3,000 rpm. In addition, it includes, among others, a cylinder disconnection system, in this case the rear one, managing to reduce consumption and emissions emitted in the form of CO₂. At the equipment level, among others, the following stand out:
- LED lighting system
- TFT color screen
- ABS braking system
- Traction and cruise control
- TPMS system
- Keyless start, etc.
X-Wedge crosses Chinese borders
Beyond the changes made to two of its models, one of the most relevant aspects about X-Wedge is related to its commercial expansion. This same season the brand has started its commercial operations in Malaysia with prices starting from 14,600 euros at the exchange rateof its Ranger RX2000 Bobber model and reach 148,888 RM (Malaysian ringgit), about 31,500 euros at the exchange ratein its most ambitious model, the Vanguard VT2000.
In this case, as described by the brand itself, we would be faced with “an ultra-luxury tricycle radiates exclusivity”. Standard equipment includes a dedicated reverse gear for effortless maneuvering, a high-fidelity JBL audio system with four speakers, a radio player and Bluetooth connectivity.
Passengers benefit from a navigation projection screen and integrated front and rear cameras for added safety. Comfort in the X-Wedge flagship is paramount, so heated front and rear seats come standard. Also adjustable windshield and an extensive storage system that includes an upper trunk, a rear trunk, two side cases, a luggage rack and two front storage compartments.
