Just a few days ago, Kardesign presented one of its latest virtual renderings, which he himself named Honda Africa Twin Classic Edition. The idea is clear with this conceptual design: on the one hand, keep intact the dynamic, mechanical and technological qualities of the famous Japanese model; on the other hand, to give it an aesthetic in the purest style of those frames that the Japanese brand began to market since the late 80s with its first XRV650 Africa Twin, to later give way to the famous “seven and a half” versions.
The Africa Twin Classic Edition returns many years later
Specifically, 12 seasons have passed since some international media echoed a design almost identical to the one we show you today, until Kar Lee Design has replicated it with this “version” Africa Twin Classic Edition. Let me explain: A year before Honda launched the current saga of its ADV model on the market, there were already those who imagined the long-awaited return in the form of a modernized RD07.
Curiously, the design launched by Kardesign has many similarities with that one. Although the consecrated virtual artist has retouched some details in his new Africa Twin Classic Edition, the visual basis of the render is practically copied from what was then used, for example, by Insella’s colleagues to speculate on the long-awaited return of the consecrated Honda model.
For the occasion, Kar Lee has renovated the front, where this Africa Twin Classic Edition now includes LED lighting. Also the exhaust system with the most refined design and in line with current trends. In addition, it has included a filler cap in the rear handle, synonymous with the fact that under it we would find an auxiliary fuel tank in the purest Dakar style.
Finally, it is evident that the Africa Twin Classic Edition by Kardesign sports a different color scheme where the yellow side number holder evidently stands out, a detail that undoubtedly adds extra character to the philosophy sought in a conceptual design of this type. Ultimately, this review The original design from 2014 maintains a clear off-road focus, on the other hand, the same one offered by those initial versions of the model that caused so much fury at the time among fans of the brand.
