Yamaha works on a radar that “sees” in curves and wants to take it to the naked

The front radar system has become one of the most recurring security elements in recent years, although this is usually used in high -end models and specifications. Perhaps this changes after the last registration of Yamaha patents, and if the front radar system in which they would be working comes to series soon.

New Yamaha front radar system in detail

Recently, we have known one of the last inventions in which Yamaha could be working for the coming months and/or years. It is a new front radar system that works only through a camera. This sends the images captured to the ECU, ultimately in charge of managing the necessary parameters for its proper functioning.

To do this, calculate key aspects in this type of technologies such as the distance, speed and trajectory of vehicles that circulate in front of the motorcycle at that time. It is not very clear what the intention of the Japanese brand is with the registration of these patents. However, it makes us think about the possibility that Yamaha looks for cost savings and space with a front radar system of this type.

On this last aspect, after and how they are detailed in the records of the record, we can see how this new front radal system could fit perfectly in the front of a Naked type motorcycle. These do not usually treasure too much space in this area, as in other models of different segments, such as Custom.

That said, it would also mean an important savings in sensors and electronics. The camera sends the information that is capturing at all times to the ECU. Ultimately this would be responsible for processing and comparing the images with which I would have previously received, calculating the speed or trajectory that the vehicle we have in front of it is.

It also makes use of a key fact in this type of systems, the inclination angle. Similarly, Yamaha’s front radar system could process the data of the vehicles that precede us on a curves road. “A more intuitive system could ignore the danger, since it is not right in front of your motorcycle, but the Yamaha system would understand that, being the road spinning, the vehicle is on your career even if it is not right in front of it”clarify from Cycle World.
