209 HP, elite technology and price from 23,250 euros

The Manx R 2026 It has become one of the reborn Norton models that has caused the most excitement in recent years. A slender machine that powers a new generation of motorcycles that essentially share the same philosophy. Brian Gillentechnical director of the project, defines the brand’s latest novelty as “a category-leading superbike that sets new standards in the rider experience.”

Norton Manx R 2026 Engine

The recently launched Manx R announces up to four different finish variants, although all of them will be developed on the same common platform. This one features both its V4 engine and the frame made using cast parts and CNC machining. Regarding the first, we find a 1,200 cc block and internal measurements of 82 mm x 56.8 mm in terms of diameter and stroke.

For power we have a multipoint sequential injection system with 8 injectors, electronic throttle (ride-by-wire) with independent control in the front and rear cylinder banks for maximum control and sensitivity. This results in a power of 209 HP at 11,500 rpm and 130 Nm at 9,000 rpm.

As explained by the brand itself, although it shares the same 72° V4 configuration and the same 1,200 cc displacement as the previous V4SV engine, the Norton Manx R engine is significantly lighter and more efficient, with higher power and torque figures. All engine components were optimized to reduce weight at every stage of their development, resulting in a very contained mass of just 73.3 kg.

It also offers a wide band of use between the speeds of maximum power and maximum torque, delivering 77% of its maximum torque at only 5,000 rpm. The block is associated with a six-speed transmission and incorporates a multi-disc oil bath clutch with torque assistance and an advanced bi-directional electronic quick-change system and revolution synchronization.

This guarantees smooth changes both when up and down gears. Close, short gear ratios, along with a deliberately longer-than-usual 2.41:1 final gear ratio, ensure the rider is always in the right gear to take advantage of the engine’s ample torque reserves, with the option of receiving intelligent feedback from the Optimal Shift Suggestion system.

Cycle part of the Norton Manx R 2026

Norton engineers were inspired by the rich racing heritage of the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (TT) to develop a frame that performs at its best in real-world road conditions. The team’s main goal was to achieve the perfect level of chassis flex to create a driving experience that increases rider sensitivity. With a double-spar configuration, the Manx R frame is made up of five castings that are welded and CNC machined as a single unit. The rear is dominated by a beautiful die-cast aluminum single arm.

For the suspensions Norton turns to Marzocchi, with a 45 mm inverted fork and a specific fully adjustable rear shock absorber, both with external spring preload adjustment. While in the standard version it is manually adjustable, in the rest of the variants it is semi-active. This system uses innovative technology with independent linear potentiometers that measure the position, speed and acceleration of both the rear shock absorber and the front forks.

Using an electronic control unit and specific software, it allows the front and rear suspension to be managed independently, with a control algorithm that updates every three milliseconds, guaranteeing maximum performance, comfort and grip in any situation. This translates into an extremely smooth and controlled ride in the city and a sporty suspension as speed increases, ensuring maximum control and confidence in all situations.

As for braking, Norton relies on Brembo’s HyPure high-performance brake calipers. Monobloc type, light and racing-inspired, they have been manufactured in aluminum alloy. Its asymmetrical design responds to its advanced heat dissipation capabilities, while residual torque is minimized through a patented spring, pad and pin system.

At the front, four pistons and radially mounted, they work on two 320 mm floating discs, while at the rear we find a 245 mm disc actuated by a double-piston caliper. The entire kit is in turn assisted by a Bosch Cornering EVO ABS system and integrated into two cast aluminum OZ Racing wheels measuring 17” x 3.50” and shod with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP-V4 120/70 and 200/55 tires, front and rear respectively.

At the level of dimensions, the standard variant of the model equips declares a curb weight of 217kgincluding the 14.5 liters of its fuel tank. The pilot’s seat is located 840 mm from the ground, with a wheelbase of 1,435 mm. Likewise, Norton approves a launch angle of 24.1º, while the total advance is 94.5 mm. In short, an ergonomic triangle, together with a distribution of weights and studied measurements that together give rise to a purebred superbike.
