If there is a brand that has brought to the extreme the concept of “exaggeration” in the world of motorcycles, that is Boss Hoss Cycles. Born in the United States, land of excesses and passions by large -displayed engines, this small firm has built a legend based on automotive V8 mechanics mounted on motorcycle chassis.
Of course, they have figures that seem out of a science fiction film, up to 8,100 cc, more than 600 hp and a price that starts in the 75,000 euros. And yes, we obviously talk about legal motorcycles to circulate.
The story of Boss hoss It began in 1990, by the hand of Mount Warnean Aviation pilot from Tennessee with an idea as simple as crazy: put a car V8 engine on a motorcycle.
The first model used the legendary Chevrolet Small Block 350 of 5,700 cc, and although the idea looked like a garage experiment, the brand quickly consolidated between a very specific niche of American muscle lovers who, in a somewhat baroque way, demand something even more striking than a Harley-Davidson or one Indian.
Initially called Boss Hogthe brand was forced to change its name after a legal conflict with the Harley Owners Group (HOG), finally adopting the current name: Boss hoss. And although in Europe more than a decade ago new models are not officially marketed, mainly due to increasingly strict environmental regulations, in the country of hamburgers production continues. In addition, philosophy has not changed either: the bigger, more powerful and louder, the better.
Currently, the catalog of Boss hoss Includes 4 two -wheeled and 6 tricycles motorcycles, all of them propelled by engines Chevrolet V8with powers that exceed 400 hp in all cases. Even the most basic model mounts a brutal V8 LS3 of 6,200 cc, a figure that ridicule any modern superbike.
Boss Hoss Classic Cruiser.
This model represents the entrance door to the world Boss hoss. It is a classic American custom, with more than 2.03 meters away axes and a seat only 70 cm from the ground, which allows to maintain a low center of gravity despite the huge volume. In addition, its design serves as a basis for the rest of the two -wheeled models.
As for motorizations, the Boss Hoss Classic Cruiser It has 3 variants:
- LS3 (6,200 cc). 445 hp and 605 nm.

The engines are the same as in the Classic Cruiseralthough an even more extreme version is added: the Big Block 496 (8,100 cc) with 600 hp and 772 nm of torque.
This model is a real declaration of intentions. In fact, its acceleration is comparable to that of a drag car.
Boss Hoss Classic Bagger
Designed for those looking for some more aerodynamic protection and load capacity, this Bagger takes the concept to the extreme. Includes a fairing designed by Arlen Nessmeasures almost 3 meters long, and its front wheel rid an 180 mm wide tire, something unheard of on a conventional motorcycle.
This mount is only offered with the two engines:
- 383 Stroker with 6,300 cc.
- 454 Small Block with 7,400 cc.
As it cannot be otherwise, the brakes, suspension and chassis have been reinforced to manage weight and power, which, by the way, exceed 550 kg in a gear order.
Boss hoss tricycles.
For those who want an even higher level of stability or simply somewhat more striking, Boss hoss It offers a range of triumphs that touch the territory of Hot Rods. Visually, they remember classic cars and adopt bodies inspired by Chevrolet Bel Air of the 50s, the Chevy Coupe of the 40 and, finally, the epic Chevrolet SS Truck.
All of them share the 6,200 cc LS3 engine, although some customers have commissioned models with personalized motorizations even more wild. These vehicles not only stand out for their aesthetics, but also for their ability to drag and scenic presence.
