More than a year ago, the Spanish subsidiary of the Fanckley factory joined the La Ruta + Fea project, a collaborative proposal that converts biker solidarity into trees and returns life to the areas devastated by forest fires. After this joint work time and in a summer in which the fires have again left a deep mark in our country, the British firm reinforces its commitment to this initiative that seeks to transform the passion by the two wheels into a natural and social regeneration engine.
Therefore, Triumph invites the entire biker community, regardless of the brand, to discover routes, share experiences and plant trees in the Bikerwood decentralized forest, to help return life to the most punished territories. Twelve months of collaboration with the objective of amplifying visibility and directly supporting the project. A time in which the Route + Fea has managed to convert the passion and commitment of many motorists into a real and measurable impact on the ground.
The Bikerwood forest, created from the contributions of the community, already has 266 planted trees, which translate into 3,561 square meters of regenerated surface, more than 1.15 tons of CO₂ absorbed, 6 m³ of water benefit and 83 hours of rural employment generated in areas such as the Pasiegos hills (Cantabria). Far from being only figures, these data are proof that each route made and each planted tree adds to reverse the effects of the fires and return life to the most punished places.
The Route + Fea: a collaborative and decentralized initiative
With the Route + Fea, Triumph invites all two -wheeled lovers, regardless of the motorcycle brand they drive, to leave a positive mark on the world. Through the web it is very easy to plant trees in bikerwood, the decentralized forest that arises from the hand of Retree in different areas of Spain and that constitutes one of the cornerstones of the project. The objective is to regenerate each territory with native species, enhance rural employment and, ultimately, create a forest that symbolizes the union of motorists with nature.
There are also 17 specific routes for various areas affected by previous fires, available both in GPX format and Google Maps, so that any motorist can download them and set them up to them. In provinces such as Alicante, Navarra, Cáceres, Teruel, Burgos, Madrid, Málaga, Guadalajara, Castellón or Ávila, roads that have not lost an apex of attractiveness for the bikers and that, in addition to curves and stories, offer the opportunity to boost the rural environment can be found while raising awareness and paying tribute to nature and people who fight to recover the environment.
The involvement of the Triumph official dealer network has also been evident during this last year. Many of them have traveled with their customers and friends some of the routes proposed on the web and have organized weekend getaways to affected areas, to learn first hand the ravages of fire and contribute, to the extent possible, to support the population and local businesses. Those who are interested in participating in future group exits, once the era of greatest fire risk ends, can contact their closest Triumph dealer.
However, the proposal of the Route + Fea not only consists in traveling those places: it also invites motorists of all brands and styles to create and propose new routes, share images or directly plant a tree, thus expanding the map of destinations where to leave a positive mark. For less than € 15 per tree, according to the chosen species, each contribution adds. In a context in which this summer’s forest fires have left an unprecedented mark in our country, initiatives such as the Route + Fea gain more strength than ever.
Triumph, along with all the bikers who have already joined the project, thus reaffirms a sustained commitment in time: continue planting trees, sharing routes and rolling through the places we love, to demonstrate that the motorcycle can also be an engine of positive change, connecting the passion to roll with the regeneration of the environment.
