The MotoGP 2027 market is moving and young people are pushing: these are the candidates

We haven’t started the 2026 season and we can’t stop talking about 2027, both in terms of the new regulation and the transfer market. And next year it happens that the usual cycle of renewals is completed and, if we add to that the new regulations, the MotoGP 2027 grid may be very different from what it will be in 2026, both in motorcycles and in riders.

This season there will only be two debutants in the category, Toprak Razgatlioglu and Diogo Moreira, who comes with the Moto2 title under his arm. From what we are seeing and what Toprak himself has commented, it seems that the easiest step is, precisely, that of Diogo due to the similarities that MotoGP and Moto2 may have, despite their obvious differences.

The fact is that by 2027 the regulations will make the engines 850 cubic centimeters, the power will decrease and Pirelli will also become a tire supplier. All of this may make the jump a little easier for the pilots who may arrive from next year and who, for now, are a well-nourished group.

Guevara, Holgado and Agius are three of the drivers who are in the spotlight

We only have rumors, but they are many rumors and they concern up to six pilots. It is really unlikely that there will be such a wild generational replacement in MotoGP, but of the rumors that exist for 2027, there are some that are much more solid and more plausible. Especially those riders who have already stood out in Moto2 and, in addition, have “AS” under the arm of their nationality.

One of them is, without a doubt, David Alonso. The driver, who races under the Colombian flag, is one of the great talents for the future. Nobody doubts that he will reach MotoGP, but he is already in the top category in 2027. You will surely have several options to choose from, because today it is one of the most desired.

Dani Holgado, Alonso’s teammate on the ASPAR Team, has also caught the attention of some teams. In fact, Holgado’s performance has been better in general terms, finishing sixth overall, adding four pole positions and five podiums, two of them victories. Nationality plays against Dani, but even so he is one of the “futures”.

The same thing, but elevated in terms of performance, happens to Manu González. The Madrid native fought for the title last season and even tried the Trackhouse Aprilia RS-GP, causing good feelings. Unfortunately, in the end he neither won the title nor moved up to MotoGP, but it is a debt that the championship owes him and, if anyone deserves to move up, it is, without a doubt, González.

Something similar to Manu and Dani happens to two other names that sound. One is Celestino Vietti, Italian, and the other Izan Guevara, Spanish. Both are in MotoGP team orbits. In the case of Vietti, the VR46 that allowed him to ride in the Valencia tests after Morbidelli’s injury. And although it does not finish exploding, it is usually always ahead. Meanwhile, Guevara, more consistent in 2025, could be an option for the Pramac Yamaha which, a priori, could have its two places free if Razgatlioglu moves to the official team and Miller leaves.

The passport will weigh a lot on the 2027 grid

Of course, for Miller to leave MotoGP, Dorna’s logic makes us think of a new Australian on the grid. And this is where Senna Agius appears. Although he has not stood out until 2025, it was this past season when he made a notable leap in quality, achieving two victories and two third places.

The last of the names that sound like desired on the MotoGP 2027 grid is, a priori, the most difficult to see come to fruition. We are talking about Máximo Quiles, a talent who, already in his first year, in which he missed the first four races, has been able to finish third overall, close to Piqueras, with nine podiums and three of them victories.

There is no doubt that Quiles is destined to be one of the great stars of the future, although this direct jump to MotoGP sounds excessive for a rider who, if he competes in all the GPs in 2026, would arrive in MotoGP with 30 GPs under his belt.
