Six works of art and a Ducati Formula 73 to celebrate the centenary in Madrid

Ducati continues to celebrate its century of history, and is taking the opportunity to look far beyond motorcycles. One of its next stops will be Madrid, where the Italian firm will be present from September 24 to 27 at ESTAMPA, with an exhibition developed together with the artist Adriana Oliver.

The exhibition will feature six works created exclusively for the Borgo Panigale firm, and will be curated by Lucha de Gigantes and its founder, Gabriel Suárez. In them, Oliver will transfer his own visual language to the brand’s universe, taking as reference some of the elements that have accompanied Ducati during its century of history.

The relationship between the artist and the Italian brand began this year, although her connection with motorcycles dates back before. Oliver is a motorcycling fan and regularly uses an emerald green Scrambler Nightshift, a personal connection that has also served as a starting point for the pieces she will bring to ESTAMPA.

Ducati is celebrating its centenary in very different ways

The exhibition seeks to bring together two worlds that have more in common than may seem at first glance. Industrial design and art share creative processes and an aesthetic search that Ducati has taken advantage of on different occasions, especially now that the brand is using its centenary to recover and reinterpret part of its history.

A Ducati Formula 73 among the centenary works

Adriana Oliver’s six pieces will not be alone. Ducati will also bring a Formula 73 to Madrid, a motorcycle with a marked retro inspiration that will serve to connect contemporary works with the aesthetic evolution of the brand itself.

Its presence also allows the exhibition to not only remain an artistic interpretation of the transalpine brand, but also to include a physical piece capable of directly representing that journey between past and present.

The Italian brand will not be the only one linked to the world of motors that will be present at ESTAMPA. Porsche will also participate with the exhibition of a classic vehicle and different works by contemporary artists, including another creation by Adriana Oliver herself.

The Spanish artist has prepared six works for the occasion

This event in Madrid joins other actions that Ducati has been launching to mark its 100 years. Among them are the ten works created by the Italian artist Ugo Nespolo around the Collezione 100, in addition to precedents such as Centauro, the creation of Paolo Troilo on a Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini converted directly into canvas.

ESTAMPA will therefore serve as a new celebration within the commemoration of Ducati’s centenary, this time with art as the protagonist and with Madrid as the setting between September 24 and 27.
