TVS RTR 125 LC 2027: a new A1 sports car with streetfighter aesthetics and TFT technology
TVS Motor Company continues to expand its presence in Europe and takes advantage of EICMA 2026 to present one of its most interesting novelties within the small displacement motorcycle segment: the TVS RTR 125 LC. It is a light urban-oriented sports car, designed for those looking for a first motorcycle with an aggressive aesthetic, agile behavior and technological equipment above what is usual in this category.
Presented in Milan as a production-ready model with European specifications, the new RTR 125 LC is aimed directly at A1 license holders. Its approach combines an image inspired by streetfighter-style naked bikes with a 125 cc liquid-cooled engine, six-speed transmission and a chassis that includes KYB inverted forks and brakes with dual-channel ABS. A formula that aims to offer more than just a simple mobility tool for everyday trips.
The arrival of this model also represents an important step in TVS’s European strategy. The Indian company began its landing in this market with its presence at EICMA 2025 and the development of its Global Center of Excellence for Design and Engineering in Bologna (Italy). Now, with a range that has gone from six models in 2025 to eleven in 2026, the brand seeks to consolidate an increasingly complete offer, in which combustion and electric proposals coexist.
Engine: 125 cc, liquid cooling and 14.9 HP
The TVS RTR 125 LC uses a 125 cc single-cylinder engine with liquid cooling, four-valve distribution and double overhead camshafts (DOHC). A mechanical configuration that seeks to offer lively operation and make the most of the power limits established for the A1 license.
Its official figures announce 11 kW (14.9 HP) at 9,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 12 Nm at 7,000 rpm. Although TVS has not yet provided data on performance, maximum speed or consumption, these figures place the new naked in the high power zone of its category, with a delivery that should favor both urban circulation and road travel.
The engine works associated with a six-speed gearbox, a solution that allows you to better stagger the ratios and take advantage of the performance available in different situations. In addition, it incorporates an assisted multi-disc and slipper clutch, two especially interesting features in a motorcycle also intended for users who are facing a geared motorcycle for the first time.
This system makes it easier to operate the lever and helps control the reactions of the rear wheel during the sharpest reductions. In this way, TVS seeks to offer simpler and more progressive driving, without giving up a certain sporty character.
Another notable element is the incorporation of several driving modes. The brand has not specified their names or the specific differences between them, but confirms that they allow the motorcycle’s response to be adapted to changing conditions of use.
Chassis, suspension and brakes: a cycle part with a sporty approach
One of the most striking aspects of the TVS RTR 125 LC is its chassis configuration. Far from resorting to a simple solution with basic components, the Indian firm is committed to a set that incorporates some unusual elements in small entry-level nakeds.
The frame uses Synchro Stiff technology, with a multi-tubular structure that leaves part of its elements visible and contributes to reinforcing the aesthetic personality of the motorcycle. Added to this assembly is a cast construction swingarm, designed to work together with the chassis and provide the necessary rigidity.
In the front axle we find a 41 mm diameter KYB inverted fork, a component that stands out within its segment and that should contribute to improving the steering precision and behavior of the front wheel. At the rear, TVS installs an adjustable monoshock, although at the moment its adjustment possibilities have not been detailed.
The alloy wheels have tires measuring 100/80-17 at the front and 140/70-R17 at the rear. This combination, with a relatively generous rear section for a 125 cc, accompanies its sporty visual approach and seeks to provide a good compromise between agility and stability.
In the braking section, the RTR 125 LC is equipped with a 300 mm front disc clamped by a radially mounted Bybre caliper. On the rear we find another disc, in this case 240 mm, with a caliper from the same brand.
The set is assisted by a dual-channel ABS, which acts on both wheels to reduce the risk of locking during braking. A particularly interesting feature on a motorcycle aimed at novice riders, for whom having electronic safety aids can make an important difference during learning.
Technology and equipment: 5-inch TFT screen and integrated navigation
Technology is another of the arguments with which TVS wants to differentiate its new 125 cc. The instrumentation consists of a 13 cm (5-inch) TFT screen, which incorporates multiway Bluetooth connectivity and different functions aimed at facilitating daily use.
Among its most notable features are full-screen map duplication and turn-by-turn navigation. In this way, the motorcyclist can consult the directions of his route directly on the instrument panel, without having to constantly depend on the mobile phone screen.
This solution is especially practical for urban trips, where changes in direction and intersections can require you to continually consult the navigation. It also makes weekend getaways and trips on unfamiliar roads easier.
Multiway connectivity expands the possibilities of interaction between the motorcycle and external devices, although TVS has not yet detailed all the supported functions or the interface customization possibilities.
In terms of safety and comfort, the new RTR 125 LC incorporates dual-channel ABS, driving modes and emergency lights. All of this is complemented by fully LED lighting, which includes a projector headlight, taillight and turn signals.
The front features a rectangular LED projector headlight accompanied by a characteristic daytime running light signature. At the back, the LED light divided into three elements provides its own visual identity and reinforces its sporty aesthetics.
Design: a small naked with streetfighter personality
Visually, the TVS RTR 125 LC opts for a hyper naked aesthetic clearly inspired by larger displacement streetfighters. Its silhouette is characterized by a tank with very marked shoulders, angular surfaces and a driving position with the body slightly forward.
The set seeks to convey a muscular image despite being a 125 cc motorcycle. The multitubular frame is partially exposed, also becoming an important element in its design.
The compact front, with its rectangular LED optics, concentrates a good part of the motorcycle’s personality. From there, the lines of the tank and the side panels draw a silhouette that ends in a high and stylized rear, finished off by the characteristic divided taillight.
TVS has not yet communicated the final colors available for the European market, nor any possible versions or customization packages. Nor has it detailed a specific accessories catalog for this model.
