Garmin has been developing its GPS devices for decades, including motorcycle satellite navigators. The latest to be integrated into its range is this zūmo XT3a model that includes new functionalities even more developed than in previous versions. Furthermore, as the brand clarifies, “This rugged device is designed to withstand extreme weather conditions and handlebar vibration.”
Garmin zūmo XT3 in detail
The recently launched zūmo XT3 replaces the previous XT, initially being offered in two different screen sizes: 4.7 or 6 inches. Among its main characteristics we can highlight:
- Designed to withstand harsh weather and vibrations
- Detailed satellite images, streets and topographic maps
- It shows us inclination angle, g force and maximum speed
- Compatible with Tread mobile app
Other functions that the new Garmin zūmo XT3 offers us are, for example, being able to use it without having to take off our gloves. Additionally, the brand itself claims that its new model meets MIL-STD-810 drop test standards and has an IPX7 water resistance rating. As the main novelty, we have the possibility of sharing our data on inclination angles, maximum speed and G force.
Likewise, the zūmo XT3 is fully compatible with the zūmo R1 radar system. This offers rear and blind spot monitoring, warning drivers of imminent threats. On the other hand, it offers us alerts of dangers present along the route, such as upcoming sharp curves, changes in speed and much more. It even sends us notifications related to state helmet laws.
As it could not be otherwise, the map cartography used by the zūmo XT3 is in high definition. The images show us colorful aerial views of the route and surrounding terrain to make driving easier at all times. Another aspect that affects this last aspect is the possibility of keeping the headphones linked to the phone.
This way we can control the music or listen to the turn-by-turn directions of the navigator. Turn directions will be sent to the headphones via the smartphone. It is also possible to access real-time information about traffic and weather, share routes with other users and receive notifications on the phone through the aforementioned Tread application.
Optionally, those users who enter the circuit with their motorcycles can subscribe to the Performance Package. This “includes lap timing and drag racing metrics, such as 0-100 km/h times, with data viewable on the device or through the Garmin Catalyst app”as confirmed by Visor Down. With an official price that starts from 499.99 eurosthe Garmin zūmo XT3 will be available for purchase starting February 20. More information and details on the brand’s official website.
