A few months ago, Rieju surprised with the first images of the Coaster, a family with which the Spanish manufacturer opened a new chapter within its catalog. Faced with a range traditionally linked to enduro, supermotard and, more recently, trail and crossover motorcycles, the Figueres brand entered the custom field for the first time with a Mediterranean-inspired proposal.
Now, the Rieju Coaster 407 already has technical data, equipment and official price. And it does so with unusual arguments for a motorcycle in its category: V-twin engine, belt final drive and an AMT sequential automatic transmission that allows you to drive without operating a clutch lever.
A V-Twin of 384.5 cc and almost 35 HP
The mechanical center of the Rieju Coaster 407 is a four-stroke V-twin engine, liquid cooling, electronic injection and eight-valve cylinder heads. Its exact displacement is 384.5 cc, with internal dimensions of 60 x 68 mm.
This engine develops a maximum power of 25.8 kW, equivalent to 34.6 HP, at 8,250 rpm, while maximum torque reaches 36 Nm at 4,500 rpm. The figures point to a delivery concentrated in the low and middle zone of the rev counter, consistent with the relaxed and progressive character expected of a custom.
Rieju also announces a maximum speed of 155 km/h, so the Coaster 407 is not limited to urban travel. Due to performance, autonomy and configuration, it is presented as a motorcycle capable of traveling on the highway and facing trips with a passenger and light luggage.
The propeller transmits its power to the rear wheel through a toothed belt, a common solution in the cruiser universe due to its silent operation, its cleanliness and its reduced maintenance needs compared to a conventional chain.
It also has a slipper clutch, although the great particularity of this Rieju is found in the management of the change.
AMT automatic transmission with six speeds

The Coaster 407 uses a six-speed gearbox associated with an AMT automatic system. There is no clutch lever or need to operate a conventional shift lever while driving.
The rider can let the electronics manage the gears automatically or intervene using the paddles integrated into the handlebar, using the system as a sequential shift. The idea is to retain some degree of manual control without giving up the convenience of an automated transmission.
This solution can be especially attractive for users who come from the world of scooters, drivers with little experience or motorcyclists looking for a simple custom for everyday use. It also reduces effort during urban trips, where the clutch and constant shifting tend to be more demanding.
It is not, therefore, a continuously variable transmission, but rather a six-speed box whose operation is electronically automated.
A low custom, but not especially small

The Rieju Coaster 407 has the usual proportions of a medium displacement cruiser. The total length is 2,250 mm, the width reaches 855 mm and the wheelbase is 1,550 mm.
This last figure should favor straight-line stability and poise at cruising speed, although it will also predictably affect agility in tight maneuvers compared to a conventional naked.
One of its strong points is the seat height, located just 690 mm from the ground. This size makes it easy to safely support both feet and makes the Coaster a motorcycle accessible to users of different heights.
The declared dry weight is 180 kg, a figure contained within the custom segment, especially taking into account the presence of the V-Twin engine, the AMT transmission system and a generous fuel tank. The tank has a capacity of 16 liters, one of the highest values among customs of similar displacement.
19 inch front wheel and 180 mm rear tire

The cycle part is articulated around a tubular chassis made of high-strength steel. In the front axle we find a conventional fork with a 37 mm diameter and 120 mm travel. At the rear, a single monoshock type shock absorber is used, instead of the pair of lateral shock absorbers common on many custom motorcycles.
The Coaster combines a 19-inch front wheel with a 17-inch rear wheel. Both are alloy and have Kenda tubeless tires in sizes 130/60-19 at the front and 180/55-17 at the rear. The tall front wheel reinforces the cruiser image and helps maintain stability, while the wide 180 mm rear tire provides considerable visual presence for a bike under 400 cc.
Nissin brakes, ABS and traction control

The braking equipment is signed by Nissin. At the front it has a 300 mm disc clamped by a double-piston caliper, while at the rear it has a 240 mm disc with a single-piston caliper.
The system incorporates ABS and, in addition, TCS traction control. This last element is not always present on access customs and adds a layer of safety on slippery surfaces or during careless accelerations.
Rieju has also included full lighting using LED technology, emergency lighting system, side stand with safety switch and electric start.
Keyless, connectivity and double USB socket

Although its image seeks to connect with the classic universe, the equipment of the Coaster 407 is clearly contemporary. The instrumentation is entrusted to a digital LCD screen from which the main driving data is displayed.
The motorcycle incorporates a keyless starting system, connectivity and two charging connections: a conventional USB-A socket and another USB-C. The set is completed with full LED lighting, including the front headlight with lens, the turn signals and the taillight.
The exhaust has a double side outlet, a visual resource that reinforces the presence of the V-twin engine and the custom aesthetics of the set.
The Coaster goes from teaser to reality

When Rieju presented the first images of the Coaster family before EICMA 2025, the brand spoke of 125 and 407 cc versions. At that time, hardly any technical details were known and much of the attention was focused on its low design, the V-shaped engine and its desire to offer a Mediterranean interpretation of the cruiser concept.
Its V-Twin engine of almost 35 HP, AMT automatic transmission, belt transmission, 690 mm seat and complete electronic equipment make up a proposal aimed both at those looking for their first motorcycle for the A2 and at experienced users who value comfort over pure performance.
With a price of 4,961 euros, the Rieju Coaster 407 also lands with an aggressive rate. A Spanish custom that does not intend to copy the American concept, but rather to transfer it to an accessible, technological format adapted to European roads.
