Today we write the news that we would never have wanted to write.
Our friend, colleague and collaborator of SoyMotero.net, Teo Romeraleft us yesterday. News that has hit with enormous hardness those of us who share kilometers, conversations, projects and a passion that defined a large part of his life: motorcycles.
In the SoyMotero.net editorial team we continue trying to assimilate a loss that leaves us speechless. Because Teo was not just another collaborator. He was one of those real bikers, one of those who understand the motorcycle as a way of living, of discovering the world and of relating to people.
Today motorcycling loses one of its own, we lose a friend
Many fans knew him through his social media profile, MrHicks46, from where he shared trips, experiences and reflections that conveyed his particular way of understanding adventure. Always naturally, without artifice and with the authenticity that characterized him.
tireless traveler, between 2013 and 2015 fulfilled one of the dreams that many imagine and few dare to realize: going around the world on a motorcycle and also doing it alone. But those who knew him know that that trip was not a goal, but a way of understanding life.
Since his return he never stopped looking for new routes, new destinations and new stories to tell. Whether on asphalt or tracks, any excuse was a good one to put on your helmet and go riding.
Teo joined the team in 2023 as a collaborator in the testing department. Since then he participated in countless presentations, trips and motorcycle tests throughout Spain and other corners of the world. His way of communicating was as personal as it was recognizable: direct, honest, sometimes ironic, but always authentic.
He said what he thought and wrote from experience, something that allowed him to earn the respect and friendship of colleagues, brands, readers and friends. Beyond his articles and videos, those of us who were lucky enough to spend time with him were left with his permanent enthusiasm, his desire to ride, his adventurous spirit and his way of approaching each trip as if it were the first.
From SoyMotero.net we want to convey all our love and support to your family, your partner, friends and loved ones in these difficult times. The editorial office has become a little quieter. But we are convinced that Teo’s memory will continue to accompany us on every route, in every test and in every story that has yet to be told.
There are people who use motorcycles to travel.
Teo used the motorcycle to live.
Goodbye, friend.
The memory of those who shared the path with him:
Over the next few hours and days we will incorporate into this article the messages, memories and testimonies of colleagues, friends, professionals in the sector and travelers who were lucky enough to share part of the journey with Teo. If you want to leave us yours, you can do so by clicking here.
Because a person’s footprint is not measured only by the kilometers they traveled, but by the lives they touched during the journey.

When a person dies who in a very short period of time went from being a co-worker to being an unreserved friend, sadness comes flooding out. I remember perfectly when Isra introduced us. It was at the Medis Christmas lunch. “Pipe, this is Teo. “You are going to be co-workers from now on”. That same day we connected. I also can’t tell you why. Well, yes I know: you are a free soul, with clear eyes, a huge heart and very clear principles. You have the criteria of someone who knows how to read what is happening and is able to explain it easily, in life or on motorcycles.
That’s why every time you picked up the phone and told me “what’s up friend“, he felt the pang of pride of friendship. “Pipe, I want you to know that I love you very much.“, that’s how you told me, without ambiguities or circumlocutions. I want you to know that it doesn’t console me that you left without pain and doing what you like most. What really consoles me is that, when we meet next time, we will continue to have the same good time; this time, forever. Teo, friend, I want you to know that I love you very much.

The important thing is molar. And you were cool. A lot. You were one of those people who made everything easier and, above all, more fun. As I usually say, a great guy. Close, human and with great creativity. Thank you very much for the little moments we shared. See you always Teo. Since yesterday the sky is much cooler.

Friend Teo, it was a pleasure meeting you, we had so many things in common. You were authentic, unique and unrepeatable. You said that the important thing was to be cool and you were very cool, I will miss you a lot mate.

I don’t believe it yet. I’m still waiting for the notification to ring on my phone, and for it to be you, Teo, returning from one of your trips saying “Morri, I’ll tell you something.«, and then listen to your voice in the audio. In these three years we did not meet in person (and it is something that saddens me enormously), but we connected from minute one. You said that I was very easy to work with, that I was a very permissive “boss”, and that you were always late. And I always laughed, because it was true, but it didn’t matter. But damn, this was where you should have been late, very late.
Today I’ll open the bottle of bourbon, pour on some of the Stoner Rock you loved so much, and toast you.
See you always Teo, I’m going to miss you. But we will meet again, and we will give each other that promised hug.

We had dinner together at the last presentation in which we met -ironically, it was a motorcycle safety course- and we spent a good time exchanging travel anecdotes. Mine, obviously, were mediocre compared to his because although he had traveled -literally- the entire world on a motorcycle he never boasted about it. A humble guy, with fine, ironic British humor who never had a bad word for anyone and was always willing to give adventurer’s advice to anyone who asked for it. There are not many of us who dedicate ourselves to this crazy job of riding a motorcycle around the world, so in reality we are like a family and the loss of one of the members leaves us with a special scar. Travel far friend!!! We will miss you MrHicks46!!!

A good guy and excellent companion both in presentations and on the road where I met him. Rest in peace mate.

Teo Romera: a being of light
There are human beings who transmit peace and good vibrations, who have crossed our path to leave an indelible good memory, such was our friend Teo Romera. My wife only met him once and was fooled – like almost everyone – by Teo’s influence.
I had only known Teo for a few years, but luck meant that I was able to share with him a couple of long car trips, a week on a motorcycle through Morocco and even a hotel room (this unites a lot). Teo ended up on the other side of the room (which was very large), sleeping on the sofa and covered with cushions, running away from my snoring (Teo, I apologize again).
A computer engineer and (literal) globetrotter, he had lived so much that he didn’t need to shout or gesture to get attention. Solo travel changed his life and also, at least a little, changed it for the rest of us, at least for one of you.
The motto on his WhatsApp profile was: “the important thing is to be cool.” And Teo was cool like no other, his personality was able to conquer almost everyone, from the girls he taught basketball classes to, to the fans he took as a guide through Morocco, Spain, or Kyrgyzstan, to his colleagues in the world of journalism.
This week he had sent me a photo on a motorcycle with Esther, his girl, and a single word: “Hotties!” I responded with one in which I am with my great-nephew Nicolás, but I no longer received a response… Teo, rest in peace.

I met Teo a few years ago while I was performing the role that he normally played, that of guiding others on a motorcycle. Something that only a few weird guys like to do madly, why are we going to fool ourselves. On that occasion, he came to test a motorcycle for SoyMotero, while that day I was the one who set the course for the press colleagues.
In the pauses between photo sessions and videos, a complicity arose of those that do not usually occur very quickly between two people who do not yet know each other, because Teo had two characteristics that I value most in a person: nobility and an exceptional sense of humor, and he offered you both from the first moment.
From then on we met only on rare occasions, but returning to past conversations as if we had just left them hours before, something that doesn’t happen with everyone, not even with many of your own good friends.
Teo, you will be greatly missed, of course. But since people who leave before their time live on in the form of an eternal and invariable memory, our Teo will always be our Teo, no matter what happens, wherever you continue to enjoy riding and traveling.

We have a beautiful job that sometimes shows us a terrible face
It allows us to meet inspiring people like Teo, who gives complete meaning to what we do and why we do it, but it also restores our faith that there really are good people who touch your soul. I met Teo through his videos as a traveler and then I was extremely lucky to know everything behind it that I had not imagined.
You leave us orphaned of mustaches, humor and molars, and with a tremendous void that we will not know how to fill with reflections on motorcycles, life or love.
Take care of yourself, big guy.
