“Vespa Rome 2026 – 80 years of an icon”, which is already considered the largest celebration of the Vespa, of the style and joy of life that it has represented for eight decades, concluded in Rome last Sunday with the traditional Parade of Eleganceone of the most anticipated and spectacular events. Once again, Vespa has achieved its goal of integrating enthusiasts from all five continents into the same initiative, driven by the purest love for the iconic brand.
So much so that during the four days of the festival, the Vespa Village of the Foro Italico welcomed more than 50,000 visitorswho enjoyed music, events, exhibitions, shopping areas, street food and daily entertainment with the Radio Deejay stage. Among the most popular areas was the exhibition of the current Vespa range, the most representative and exclusive classic Vespas in the collection of the Piaggio Museum of Pontedera, as well as an interesting photographic exhibition that covered the history of the Italian firm.
67 national clubs participate in Vespa Roma 2026
Vespa fans came from all over the world, led by the many traditional delegations from Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Austria and Switzerland, as well as other continents. Enthusiasts from Australia, Hong Kong, Mexico, Argentina, the Philippines, the United States, Canada and Colombia also participated, making a total of 67 national Vespa clubs officially represented.
The long-awaited and spectacular parade on Saturday broke all attendance records, with 25,000 Vespa parading along a picturesque route through the streets of Rome. From the Baths of Caracalla, the great procession headed to the Colosseum, then to the Piazza Venezia, around the Altar of the Fatherland and continued to the Imperial Forums.
Throughout the tour, the more than 160 Vespa models that have been produced over the course of eight decades: some extremely rare examples of the Vespa 98, the first series produced in 1946, as well as many classic scooters, from the low-light two-wheelers of the 1950s to the classic VBBs of the 1960s.
The ET3, the GTR and the numerous Rallys were some of the most acclaimed models, as was the timeless Vespa PX. A triumph of models and versions, up to the modern Primavera and GTS, which are particularly well represented thanks to the enthusiastic travelers who have traveled thousands of kilometers to reach Rome.
Special guests included six-time world champion Max Biaggi and Aprilia Racing MotoGP rider Lorenzo Savadori. The event concluded with the awards ceremony, which saw Vespa drivers participating in the Parade of Elegance and Vespa Clubs competing for the Vespa Trophy, the tourism trophy in which Clubs are asked to document the stops on their trip to Rome with photos and special stamps in their Travel Book.
