Spain conquers Triumph Originals 2026: Tamarit’s spectacular “Miura” takes the victory

Since we met it for the first time, we were completely certain that the Scrambler 400 “Miura” from Tamarit Motorcycles was going to “succeed like Coca Cola” in Triumph Originals 2026. And we were not wrong: Spain has won this prestigious event, ahead of proposals from Canada, China, France, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Triumph Originals 2026: Seven countries, one winner

Triumph Originals 2026 brought together trainers from seven different countries, each in charge of developing their own interpretation of the Scrambler under a common theme: “Time Capsule”. The event posed a seemingly simple but difficult challenge to solve: starting from a Scrambler and looking to the past to create something new.

Each of the seven participating teams had to interpret the concept from a representative era of the Scrambler universe, combining creativity, craftsmanship and engineering. The choice of the Scrambler as the protagonist of the contest connects directly with a history linked from its origins to customization.

Already in the 60s, numerous motorcyclists modified road motorcycles with knobby tires, wide handlebars and high exhausts to create the first desert sleds, machines prepared to face both difficult terrain and competition.

“Miura”, a Scrambler transformed to compete

Developed on the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC, Miura was born with the intention of taking the possibilities of the original platform much further. Tamarit worked on geometries, suspensions and numerous specific components to achieve a lighter, more stylized motorcycle focused on off-road use. reducing its weight to approximately 155 kgabout 25 kg less than the starting model.

Its elevated and minimalist silhouette, the prominence of white, the red number and the different nods to the Spanish soccer team build its own identity inspired by classic dirt racing motorcycles. The result is a profound transformation that maintains the proportions and character of the Scrambler, one of the aspects that the international jury valued most.

own Quique Berna explained during the development of “Miura” the philosophy with which Tamarit had approached this year’s concept: “We have created time capsules since our beginnings. By focusing on elegance and exclusivity, we always seek to create motorcycles that become a legacy, whose essence is frozen and then reborn years later, intact by the passage of time. Like a white t-shirt, the Scrambler is timeless today and will remain so in twenty years.”

There was no doubt among the jury

Miura has conquered thousands of fans from around the world who subsequently participated in the public vote, managing to obtain 33% of the votes cast internationally. This result was combined with the evaluations of an international jury made up of Steve Sargent, Chase McQueen, Eric Hendricx, Rolf Henniges and Satoshi, who awarded it the highest combined score.
