The information collected during the first season of competition has led to a series of evolutions in the Desmo450 MX and the Desmo450 MX Factory, with the aim of continuing to improve performance, ergonomics and robustness.
The 2027 range incorporates a series of specific updates, including a new ratio of final drive with a 51-tooth ring gear, Redesigned toe caps on shift and brake pedals To improve ergonomics, a larger fuel tank cap to speed up refueling and new Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tires. Numerous components have also been updated and reinforced.
Among them we highlight the starter motor gear, water pump oil seal, exhaust manifold, fork guards and engine mounting brackets. Desmo450 MX 2027
The Desmo450 MX represents the core of Ducati’s motocross project. Developed and perfected from the experience gained in competition, it has been created to offer the best balance between power, lightness and reliability. This combines high performance with ease of piloting.
At the heart of the project is the engine with desmodromic distribution, a unique solution in the segment, capable of offering generous torque at low and medium speeds and class-leading acceleration at high speeds. The aluminum chassis, designed with a minimum number of welds to optimize rigidity and lightness, guarantees stability, precision and confidence right out of the box in any conditions.
Cutting-edge electronics complete the set, including the world’s first patented traction control system specific for a motocross bike, capable of intervening selectively and effectively to prevent the rear wheel from skidding. The new, larger fuel tank cap (40 mm) makes refueling quicker and easier. The 51-tooth crown increases the torque available at the rear wheel, improving the bike’s response when exiting corners. The new tips of the gear and rear brake pedals improve ergonomics and facilitate foot movements when changing gears and braking.
The set is completed with the new Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tires, chosen to offer maximum traction and the best performance on today’s motocross circuits. Numerous components have been updated and optimized to further increase reliability, robustness and durability.
Key improvements include new starter motor gear engagement tolerances, a water pump oil seal with revised geometry and Teflon coating, and a reinforced exhaust manifold where it joins the muffler. Several components subjected to impacts and stresses have also been updated.
Highlights include the chain guide support, the fork bar protectors and the front connecting supports between the engine and the chassis. The Desmo450 MX Model Year 2027 is finally distinguished by its new decoration, with black logos that replace the previous ones in white, giving it an even more racing and differentiated image.
Desmo450 MX Factory 2027
Designed for riders looking for a bike ready to race, the Desmo450 MX Factory represents the most refined and performance expression of Ducati’s motocross project. Despite having even more complete technical equipment, the Factory version weighs less than the standard version, confirming the attention dedicated to optimizing every detail.
It features a full Akrapovič titanium exhaust system with a specific map, developed to reduce weight – 1.7 kg less – and improve power delivery and acceleration. Showa suspensions, with Dark Kashima and TiO finishing treatments, guarantee smoother operation and greater resistance to wear, helping to maintain constant performance even in the most demanding conditions.
Factory seat posts, machined from a solid block, further reduce the bike’s weight, while the sump guard, front disc guard and RK MXU chain with O-rings increase strength and reliability for racing use. The set also includes the Holeshot device, designed to optimize acceleration and stability on starts.
Also a Wi-Fi module that allows you to customize the Riding Modes through the X-Link application. In this way, the rider can adjust the engine response, Launch Control, engine braking and Ducati Traction Control. With the arrival of the 2027 model, the Desmo450 MX Factory incorporates all the evolutions introduced in the standard version.
