He ADV160 from Honda is one of those models that succeed like Coca-Cola in Southeast Asia. So much so that subsidiaries of the Japanese brand, such as the Malaysian one, have recreated striking special series about the model. The last one is this “Trico Edition”which stands out mainly for showing off the combination of colors that “has represented Honda’s racing spirit for decades”as stated by the company itself.
Kunitomo AsanoGeneral Director and CEO of Boon Siew Honda, explained during the presentation of the model: “The Trico color represents Honda’s racing heritage and our commitment to building motorcycles that riders can be proud of. By adding this livery to the ADV160, it reflects our dedication to offering Malaysian riders not only advanced technology, but also the Honda spirit.”
The ADV160 turned into a blank canvas
Last summer Honda turned the ADV160 into Spider-Man’s scooter under a series limited to only 300 units. With it, the Japanese manufacturer sought to recover the spirit of those special decorations capable of turning an ordinary motorcycle into a true collector’s item.
This commercial formula, very common in Asia and Latin America, focused mainly on the aesthetic section of the ADV160, providing its body with a combination of red, blue, black and white directly inspired by Spider-Man’s suit. In addition, to these stylistic resources was added the addition of the spider emblem and different graphic stripes running along the front, sides and back.

The technical part of the ADV160 Trico Edition
The new Trico Edition variant has become de facto for many users much more than a special series with a colorful decoration. The use of the color range that represents the history of the brand commercially and sportingly speaking, makes this limited series a true collector’s item. But since “man does not live by image alone”, beneath this distinguished livery the model has an elaborate technical package.
Based on the Honda ADV160 with Honda RoadSync, the scooter maintains the well-known SOHC eSP+ single-cylinder engine. 156.9 cubic centimetersliquid cooled, with PGM-FI system, 4 stroke, 4 valves and CVT automatic belt transmission. The brand declares 15.82 HP at 8,500 revolutions per minute and a maximum torque of 14.7 Nm at 6,500 revolutions.

The chassis features a double steel cradle chassis, conventional Showa telescopic fork, two preload-adjustable rear shock absorbers and a brake disc per axle. The assembly rests on two alloy wheels shod with mixed tires 110/80 – 14M/C and 130/70 – 13M/C, front and rear respectively. The brand declares a curb weight of 133 kilograms.
Complete and special equipment
Within the standard equipment that includes this special series we can highlight a 5-inch TFT instrument panel with smartphone connectivity, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), anti-lock braking system (ABS), smart key system and a 30-liter under-seat storage compartment. Additionally, with the purchase of the model, the brand includes JBL headphones and a Motowolf balaclava (while supplies last).

Price and availability
The Honda ADV160 Trico Edition with Honda Roadsync is now available at authorized Honda dealerships in Malaysia for an official price starting from 14,149 RM, about 3,095 euros at the exchange rate. As we already commented at the time after the launch of the limited edition Spider-Man Edition, there are no forecasts that the Japanese brand will carry out an initiative of this type in European lands on any of the urban models it markets.
