There is no doubt that bmw you’re spending the time (and money) necessary to make your next generation of S 1000 RR becomes the motorcycle to beat within the competitive high-performance superbike segment. It’s not going to be easy, there’s no doubt about it. Whether the Panigale V4, the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade or the always racing Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R have no intention of making things easier for you.
In any case, based on the latest image we have seen of a test mule rolling on the legendary Nürburgring track, there is no doubt that the German brand has worked hard on the development of the new model. At first glance, changes of different relevance can be observed both in its general design and in the main elements that make up its cycle and equipment part.
BMW S 1000 RR 2027: what we know
Since BMW presented its exuberant Concept RR last year, on the occasion of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2025, much has been said about what we can expect from the German company’s future range of superbikes. Later, we were even able to see it in action at Goodwood 2025 with Markus FlaschCEO of the German brand, at the controls. The latter declared after the official presentation:
“Never before has BMW Motorrad provided such an early glimpse of the future generation of RR models. The BMW Motorrad Concept RR is a true masterpiece from our development team, both technically and in terms of design language.”. Already this summer we were aware of a patent registered in India related to this S 1000 RR 2027.

Then we could confirm that the new sports car from the Munich company would be practically identical to the Concept RR, although with somewhat reduced fine power, around 215 hp. All this crowned by a compact silhouette, the latest in technology and a cycle section tuned to the millimeter to be able to extract all the potential that the 999 cc tetra-cylinder that will equip the model can offer us.
His last appearance in public
Recently, during some test runs on the Nürburgring circuit, the 2027 S 1000 RR was dropped off for the first time. In addition, sporting an image very close to that of a street motorcycle. As Insella’s colleagues affirm, we are looking at a completely renewed motorcycle: fairing, chassis part and key elements of the equipment are new.

In this regard, the addition of a front lighting system made up of two more stylized LED headlights stands out. In order to integrate them, the brand has redesigned the front fairing. In this same area we can also see the arrival of a forceful air intake, as well as a pair of good-sized aerodynamic fins. Likewise, both the chassis, the subframe and the swingarm have a renewed appearance, the result of the new power and torque demands that the future S 1000 RR 2027 is likely to offer.
But there is even more, since BMW also includes in this future version of its sports model, among others, a inverted front fork with electronic adjustment, Brembo HyPure front brake calipers or completely redesigned control panels. Regarding the latter, they clarify from the Italian media: “The Multi-Controller wheel, the rotating bezel used for years to navigate BMW menus, has disappeared from the left side.”

They conclude: “In its place, there is a four-way joystick, flanked by some buttons for riding modes and parameters. Given that this is the manufacturer’s best-selling sports bike, it is not unreasonable to think that this innovation will soon reach the rest of the range. The headlights, controls and TFT screen already seem to be final: development is nearing completion.” Now we just have to wait for the moment chosen by the brand for the official presentation of the model… EICMA 2026?
