The world of urban mobility could soon have a street version of the BMW Vision CE presented last year 2025. The latest images from the Indian patent registry leave no room for doubt: the German brand has been working on the project for a long time and its intention is to continue developing the initial concept that we already know. It also does so by innovating through the use of cutting-edge technologies such as an elaborate self balancing system.
BMW Vision CE: what we know
It is not yet clear what BMW Motorrad’s future plans are regarding its technological self-balancing electric scooter. If we take a look at the images of the patent registry published by Rush Lane, it is obvious that the design shown in them is not too far from that offered at the time by the initial concept presented by the brand in September 2025.

That is why, for now, we must continue to be guided by the technical references declared by the company in its Vision CE. Starting with its electric propulsion or a protective metal tubular cage that eliminates the need for a helmet, as well as protective clothing. Once placed at the controls, the ergonomics offered by its seat or the fact of having a seat belt stand out.
This, together with the reduced overall height, the 15-inch lenticular wheels, combined with a long wheelbase, give the Vision CE a stretched, dynamic and visually light appearance. However, the most striking thing about the model is undoubtedly its balancing function, which allows the vehicle to completely balance itself when stationary.

From the Indian media they affirm that it is likely that its operation will occur “through an advanced system composed of sensors and electrical actuators”. This does not mean that it does not have a standard side kickstand; Possibly the aforementioned system is only activated when the vehicle is in ON mode. If not “the self-balancing system is deactivated to save battery life and prevent component wear” they conclude.
As for other key aspects in terms of safety, the brand itself explains on its official website that the front of the Vision CE “It is expanded with a tubular bumper – the type used on classic motorcycles – that protects the feet and legs, while the cage that surrounds the hip and shoulder area offers protection against side impacts.”

Finally, it is very likely that the final street model will have rear radar and electronic driver assistance systems. Different sources consulted agree that it will be the technical platform that gives life to the CE 04, the one in charge of doing the same with the future Vision CE. This is made up of a permanent magnet electric motor with liquid cooling and toothed belt transmission.
It is in turn associated with a high voltage battery of 8.5 kWh capacity. This technical marinade translates into a final power of 42 HP and 62 Nm of maximum torque with a top speed limited to 120km/h. The brand ensures a total autonomy of 130 kmbeing able to recharge in 65 minutes from 0% to 80% with the optional fast charger.

Possible official launch in 2027?
It is still too early to know if BMW will have the final version of the model ready next year. Although it has all the necessary elements for its development, there are multiple factors that come into play during it. That is why the brand, for the moment, has not spoken openly about the matter to inform about the future deadlines of the project. For now we have to wait for future updates on the subject, so we will be attentive.
