Royal Enfield celebrates its 125 years with a Classic 650 Hypershift that changes color

In recent months, on the occasion of its 125th Anniversary, Royal Enfield has launched several special editions on the market around its current range of models. The last one is this Classic 650 Hypershift of which only they will be offered 125 units in each of the key markets where the Indo-British brand has a presence.

Classic 650 Hypershift: Pure craftsmanship and attention to detail

Based on the standard model platform, this Royal Enfield Classic 650 Hypershift has been created through an alchemy of tradition and modernity that combines “125 years of pure motorcycling in a unique machine”they express from the brand. It retains the Classic’s signature teardrop-shaped fuel tank and nacelle-style headlight.

What remains latent is the fact how this limited edition draws inspiration from Royal Enfield’s rich and iconic color palette over the decades. A brass base pays homage to the first Royal Enfield motorcycles of 1901, while rich tones and bright golds combine in a unique Hypershift finish that changes color between red, green and gold tones as light hits the motorcycle.

A 125-year commemorative gold shield, special side panel badging and fine hand-painted lines complete this tribute, reflecting the craftsmanship and attention to detail that has defined Royal Enfield over generations. Something that remains in its current range of models, including the Classic 650 that gives life to this special commemorative series.

The technical platform remains unchanged

The mechanics used by this Classic 650 Hypershift continue to be the well-known 648 cc SOHC parallel twin, which for the occasion declares a maximum power of 46 HP at 7,250 rpm and a final torque of around 52.3 Nm at 5,650 rpm. This is embedded within the characteristic tubular steel chassis responsible for offering a solid structure in line with the philosophy and performance of the model.

The rest of the chassis is made up of a 43 mm telescopic fork and a pair of lateral shock absorbers, while for braking the brand uses two discs, one per axle: 320 mm at the front and 300 mm at the rear axle, in both cases actuated by double-piston calipers. The assembly is anchored on a pair of radial wheels shod with tires measuring 100/90-19 and 140/70 R18.
