Arc’Warm becomes Austral Warm and opens a new stage with a clear purpose: to accompany the motorcyclist 365 days a year. Born from the experience of demanding motorcyclists looking for the best protection and comfort for their own routes, the Spanish brand has built its philosophy on three solid pillars:
- The selection of high quality materials
- The detailed development
- Testing in real conditions
Now, that initial commitment to combat the cold evolves into a proposal for the four seasons, which debuts with Terra Duala new range of first layers for intermediate temperatures. A commercial initiative that marks the beginning of the development of new solutions, with important new features for the 2026/2027 winter season that the brand will announce soon.
The story behind Austral Warm
This business adventure began in 2020 with the same people responsible for Motorraiz, a company specialized in motorcycling equipment and with a consolidated track record in the sector. Their direct contact with clients and their experience advising on equipment have allowed them to know first-hand the real needs and demands of motorcyclists.
This professional knowledge, together with their own passion for two wheels, led them to go one step further: to develop garments specifically designed to respond to the needs that they themselves encountered on the motorcycle. A philosophy that materialized at the end of 2022 with the launch of its first collections, designed to offer protection and comfort even in the most demanding conditions.
What was born as a commitment to protection against the cold was expanding horizons: in 2023 the first garments for high temperatures arrived, a line that has evolved to the current one. Aero Oxygen EVO. Since then, the brand has continued to expand and perfect its collections, incorporating new insulation and thermal protection solutions.
The objective is no longer only to combat the cold, but to help the motorcyclist maintain comfort in situations as different as the hottest days or winter routes. An evolution that has ended up surpassing the meaning of its original name and that finds in Austral Warm an identity more in line with its present and future: 365 days and 4 seasons enjoying the motorcycle.
“The name Austral is inspired by the southern hemisphere, where we find some of the most extreme climatic contrasts on the planet: from the heat of the deserts of Australia and the tropical regions of Brazil and Africa, through the strong winds and changing climate of Patagonia, to the extreme cold of Antarctica”explains Guillermo Herreroresponsible for Austral Warm.
A brand focused “on the needs of the motorcyclist”
Developing a garment for practicing sports in the mountains is not the same as developing a garment for spending hours on a motorcycle. While in activities such as trekking Movement contributes to generating body heat, while driving the motorcyclist remains practically in the same position, with little physical activity and continuously exposed to the wind.
Therefore, even a high-performance mountain garment does not have to meet all the specific needs of riding, where insulation, breathability, ergonomics and freedom of movement take on special importance. Therein lies one of the main differential values of Austral Warm: its specialization in the needs of the motorcyclist.
Austral Warm is committed to high-performance materials, such as 17.5 micron ultra-fine merino woolfibers like Dryarn or down with high insulating power in its intermediate layers. Its first layers incorporate construction Seamlesswhich minimizes conventional seams, while its t-shirts have a semi-postural design, designed to provide light support for the back and promote comfort during long days on the motorcycle.
Everything thought out in detail by those who have many kilometers behind them. This philosophy also extends to manufacturing entirely carried out between Spain and Portugal.a commitment to local production that allows direct supervision of materials, processes and quality control. All this accompanied by demanding tests in real conditions:
From intense heat to sub-zero temperatures, also using thermal cameras to complement the evaluations of its testers with surface temperature measurements. “We started developing clothing to protect us from the cold, but we soon understood that we could transfer that same philosophy to the rest of the year”explains Guillermo Herrero.
Concludes: “Austral Warm represents this evolution without giving up what has always defined us: designing, testing and improving each product until we are fully convinced of its behavior on the motorcycle. We want the rider to forget about what they are wearing and concentrate solely on enjoying”.
Terra Dual: thermal balance between the seasons
The new stage comes with Terra Dual, a range developed to cover the gap between garments intended for heat and thermal solutions for the most intense cold. Its first layer of 170 g/m² combines merino wool and polyamide to find a balance between thermal regulation, resistance, breathability, elasticity and comfort.
With an indicative use range of between 5 and 25 °Calways conditioned by the rest of the garments and the circumstances of use, Terra Dual is especially designed for those days in which the thermometer changes as much as the landscape. Especially versatile in autumn and springcan also be used in other seasons depending on the weather and conditions of each route.
In addition, the family will soon be expanded with a helmet and technical socks, completing its proposal for intermediate temperatures. For more information about Austral Warm, its technological solutions and its complete range of products, you can visit the brand’s official website.
