A guy made a mailbox out of a tank from a Bonneville T120. I just created a need

For many years, there have been companies specialized in manufacturing special objects from parts related to the world of motors, such as the one that has converted this fuel tank from a Bonneville T120 into a beautiful and striking mailbox.

Furthermore, regardless of the purely technical details of the “invention”, the story that seems to involve the entire manufacturing process until reaching the final finish that we can see in the images is shocking.

A Bonneville T120 tank with a lot of history

It was the friends of Bike Urious who came across this striking mailbox, for sale on the famous Facebook Marketplace advertising portal. We have pulled the thread a little further and have ended up on the official website Cycle Warehouse, the company that has this object for sale, as well as a huge amount of motorcycle components. In fact, as they themselves describe their activity:

“Cycle Warehouse has one of the largest and most exclusive selections of motorcycle parts in the United States. We offer a huge collection of late model, discontinued, rare and classic motorcycle parts, plus over a thousand new and used ready-to-roll motorcycles: Harleys, Nortons, Indians, Japanese, Custom, Sports, from classic to new. And a huge collection of antiques and collectibles! All in one place!”

Entering their official website is truly a delight for the senses, due to the immense amount of products they sell, all of them related to the motorcycle sector. In any case, regarding this fuel tank of a Triumph Bonneville T120, the company explains briefly, but concisely, its history, placing special emphasis on the time it took to have it ready:

“Custom letterbox-shaped gas tank, inspired by a classic Triumph Bonneville T120 motorcycle. I had it made about 15 years ago and sent it to be painted; the process took a decade.” In addition, they warn us about how to act when taking any piece to the paint shop: “Never tell a painter you’re not in a hurry. I got it back a couple of years ago.”

They conclude by detailing that “It took them all that time to put up the emblems and pads, all with urethane paint. A great piece for a museum or exhibition, or even to put in front of your house… I spent a fortune on the manufacturing and painting… I just always wanted one.” The apparent result is very genuine and quality. Its price is also in line with the latter.

Specifically, we will have to pay about 875 euros if we want to acquire this very special mailbox. To say that this unique piece is found in Butler, Pennsylvaniaso we will have to add a good bit to the final price by including shipping costs and customs taxes, although it makes you want to treat yourself for Christmas.
