Three seasons have passed since SWM first unveiled its V 1200 custom model, with a clear Harley-Davidson feel, until it officially presented this model. Bumblebee Concept latest generation.
A prototype that borrows the name that characterized one of the most famous Autobots from the Transformers franchise in 2018, even replicating the colors used by them: Yellow, black and gray.
SWM Bumblebee Concept: what we know
From SWM they describe their new prototype as a model that is presented “merging style, technology and performance in a vision of the future.” Furthermore, the brand does not hide its commercial intentions with the Bumblebee Concept to finally go into series production, stating that “Through this model, SWM expresses its ambition to compete internationally.”
In the technical section, they take advantage of the platform provided by their current Stormbreaker V 1200. In this case we are talking about a 1,200 cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled, V-twin engine (45°) approved in accordance with the current Euro5+. From this mechanical architecture it is possible to extract a power of 61.20 HP at 5,500 rpm and 91 Nm of maximum torque at 4,000 rpm.
According to the transalpine firm, its “Bumblebee prototype embodies the high-end spirit and sports inspiration of the brand. With its sculpted lines, elegant profile and a design language that evokes the world of racing motorcycles reinterpreted with a modern touch, this prototype imagines a flagship model that offers extreme performance and advanced aerodynamics, redefining SWM standards in the premium segment.”
Both its image and the components of the cycle part validate this idea transmitted by SWM. It features a compact and muscular aesthetic, with extra wide tires on both axles, double front discs with Brembo calipers or a side exhaust system with double overlapping outlets that infuses the whole with extra personality. The forceful inverted fork or the single-seater seat, do the rest in this section.
Although it is not yet clear when the final version of the Bumblebee Concept could be launched on the market, it is evident that it could become a reference model within the custom segment thanks, among other things, to a tight final price.
Even more so, if we take into account that its sister, the V 1200, is sold for just under 10,000 euros, so it is entirely feasible that the brand’s new model will end up being offered for a similar price.
