A true “1,000 cc 2T pump” the work of a passionate nuclear engineer

Every time we talk about Allen Millyard our faces light up. Basically because we enjoy as children learning about projects as exciting as this one. 1972 Kawasaki H2 1000 Mach IVthe work of this “crazy British engineer”. A frame that, like other of its artisanal creations, has an enormous mechanical heart, maintaining an image that goes practically unnoticed by the untrained eye.

That has always been the mission of this mechanical scholar, to create excellent preparations that stand out visually as little as possible. A good example of this is this Kawasaki H2 1000, developed on the basis of a standard H2 750. But there are also other unique creations such as the Millyard Viper V10, “the motorcycle that Dodge didn’t know how to make”, equipped with a huge mechanical block with 500 HP of power and a curb weight of 630 kilograms.

Kawasaki H2 1000 Mach IV in detail

Allen Millyard’s case is practically unique in the world. A guy who has a degree as a nuclear engineer, but whose great passion is creating two-wheeled pumps like this Kawasaki H2 1000, of which he also ended up manufacturing up to 4 examples. To do this, two H2 750 engines were used, eliminating the central cylinder in each of them and combining the result in a single bank of four. The result is a 2-stroke, with kick start, with no less than 1,000 cc of displacement.

The block is associated with the five-speed gearbox with which the original model came as standard. Likewise, Millyard added an extra brake disc to the front wheel, although maintaining the rear drum. He also upgraded the rear suspension with a pair of Hagon shocks, and included an extra steering damper in the front fork.

Kawasaki H2 1000 by Allen Millyard: Perhaps the craziest 2T that has ever existed

The rest of the majority of the components of the chassis remained unchanged, as well as the silhouette and equipment elements that the H2 750 of the time originally presented. On the contrary, the Kawasaki H2 1000 exhibits a beautiful 4-2 chrome exhaust system, which also gives it a heavenly sound when we open the gas handle fully.

Now one of the four Kawasaki H2 units manufactured by Millyard will be auctioned by Mecum at the “Las Vegas Motorcycles 2025” event, next Friday, January 31. This is one of the two specimens found on Yankee land. It sports the original dark blue livery with light blue, white and black stripes with which the H2 750 used for the project was sold at the time.
