We have spoken to you at length about the launch of this motorcycle, the Atlas. Now, and as we are telling you, the future trail of Norton has been hunted again during its road tests and, this time, it does so by showing much more than what had been seen until now. The Atlas GT has been photographed driving on Indian roads completely uncovered, offering the clearest images to date of the model that aims to become the first major launch of the new stage of the British brand.
Everything indicates that the Atlas GT will be one of the cornerstones of the relaunch of Norton after its acquisition by TVS Motor Company. And, although it had already been seen before, those spy images barely revealed its rear. Now, the new photograph allows us to clearly see the front and a good part of its final design.
This is the Norton Atlas GT
Developed in parallel to the Norton Atlas standard, version G.T. marks distances with a clearly more asphalt orientation. The most obvious difference is in the use of alloy wheels, instead of the spoked ones of the model presented at EICMA, reinforcing its road-going focus. On the front, the LED daytime running lights stand out along with a set of headlights, to which are added cornering lights and courtesy lights located under the main headlight, unusual elements in the segment.
The design is completed with a raised windshield designed to improve aerodynamic protection on long trips. The cycle part reveals a gold-colored inverted front fork, fully adjustable in compression and rebound, as well as voluminous side tank covers that provide a forceful presence. Calipers appear in the brakes section ByBre acting on a double front disc.
The images also show other details such as the one-piece seat, a dual exhaust system and a large radiator, necessary to ensure efficient cooling. In the prototype shown in Milan, the Atlas GT It had a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, shod with road tires, all on a light steel multi-tubular chassis that, according to various information, would be based on the platform of the BMW F 450 GS.
In the technological section, a very complete endowment is expected. Among the planned equipment are an 8-inch TFT screen, driving modes (Sport, Touring, Urban and Off-road), tilt-sensitive ABS, traction control, skid control and hill start assist. Nor will there be missing wheelie and launch control, remote preload adjustment, keyless start system, USB-C socket, cornering cruise control, heated grips and seat and bi-directional quick change.
Under the fairing will be a 585 cc parallel twin engine, liquid cooled, with an estimated power between 68 and 72 hp. It will come associated with a 6-speed gearbox and will have a slipper clutch. From Norton They ensure that this engine will offer one of the largest torque differentials in its category, a key fact for its use.
As we have been able to learn, if the scheduled deadlines are met, the Norton Atlas GT should reach the Indian market in mid-2026. In a first phase, it will be marketed through the dealer network of TVSuntil Norton complete the deployment of your own commercial structure. A roadmap that confirms that the British brand is very serious about its return. That’s good news.
